Todays video for your pleasure:

Baton twirling - Sheryl Welykholowa, Jill Ford, Stacy Singer - Triple Threat

Linky linky

Details: On stage probably 2002 . A super tight performances from world champion standard baton twirlers.

Amazingly talented trio including Stacy Singer doing monster rolls - a move apparently invented for her and remamed matrix by the edinburgh staff twirlers.

See Glitzy stuff, 3 baton juggling, contact sequence and some qualilty strutting about.

If you like this, make a post below. If you have any requests, I can post them too. biggrin

... and then he juggles 5 of them.!!

POI =OK, for the first clip of today I'm gonna point you over to a video of Millenium that he posted today in this video forum:
[Old link]
its uncut footage in 3 parts
what you wanna look at is the footage between 2:26 and 3:52sec which is fire poi spinning where he really gets into the flow of it. Its nice to see some good flowing movement, and clean planes strung together with flow smile
(the start is fire nunchucks which is ok - but not for me-
and the 3rd part is a combination of neck wraps and isollations which is technically difficult, but looks more like a technical demonstration rather than some flow that we can really get our teeth int enjoying.)
OK thank you and well done millenium.

Lots of russian circus performances in low resolution real media.
Then w have another link sent to me By Colin J - Thanks colin.
its very funny to watch weightlifters, hoola hoopers and contortionist!!
https://www.circusland.com/top/eng/kategor.phtml?Sort=1&idkat=1&Sstart=5
Sorry its quite low res real media, Colin points out that he has managed to save them to his hard disk by raiding his cache/ temp internet folder.
and the skill leven is very high.
theres lots of them, so if you find some that you think are particularly good, please post below.

I found that I couldn't get the clips to work on the english language version of the site, BUT they worked very well on the russion version.

happy friday.

Its like totally star wars:

Pink 5 - Ever wonder how the Rebel Alliance would have fared if a Valley Girl was at the controls of an X-wing fighter during the daring raid on the Death Star? Now you can answer the troubling questions that arise from this very concept!

https://www.atomfilms.com/af/content/pink5

so off topic - to poi, not staff, maybe a bit of lightsaber in the sequel

This really is a Star Wars Fan Flick smile what-ever. biggrin

Todays link was sent to me by Dave Moseph:

Der Lauf der Dinge: the way things go Peter Fischli and David Weiss in 1987

2 of my favorite modern artists

Some slightly different object manipulation... this is only a trailer

https://www.tcfilm.ch/pop_lauf1e.htm

Their pieces about balancing everyday objects are cool,

https://e-artplastic.chez-alice.fr/classe/sujet/art38.html

Their clay sculpture titled: "Mick Jagger and Brian Jones going home satisfied after composing I Can't Get No Satisfaction" (1981) charmed me somewhat. although its not much to look at.

You know that they considered sueing Honda after the "Honda advert", seeing as this story dissapeared, My guess is that Honda rapidly became generous patrons of their art in order to provent a PR nightmare smile

I've long been a fan of their work and it turns out that both Dave and I have got the full version, which goes on for about 45 minutes, and involves fire and chemicals and fireworks. Yay!

They also did somthing which would be of great interest to twirlers, look in the phaidon book of their work on pages 107-111. (Moseph you especially, I've been dreaming of making a 3D version for a few years)

Heres a hint:

No digital effects here - this a photo, and is created mechanically and has fired up my dreams recently biggrin
