Hello wave

I hope you're all eagerly awaiting news about PLAY 2006, well so are we! We're having troube finding a venue that meets our requirements, primarilly

a) Is cheap enough to keep ticket price down
b) Is in (or roughly in) the Midlands
c) Isn't just an empty field

Sounds simple you may say, but alas not so far. If anyone knows of any decent venues can you let us know here? Did you go to a little festival last Summer in a nice quiet tucked away place in the countryside somewhere perhaps? Did it have anything like running water etc?

If you can think of anywhere please post whatever details you have, or send a pm to me instead if you fancy smile

Thanks! hug

why don't you have it at like a show ground or something? but i think the idea of renting a campsite is the best. coz it won't be too much money or what ever, and has facilities. not sure if they will want a whole load of fire spinning about thow... ah well, thats too bad!

They dont mind normally, the problm is theo finding a campsite that will accomodate for the large scale which we are after, last Play i think there were around 300 people, this year could be up to 500, needs to be an area that is far away enough so we dont get people complaining about the noise, a place where a marquee can be erected and running water and toilet facilities. The money although the least we have to pay the best should hopefully not be a problem because you have to buy a ticket for the Play festival, last year was 15 pounds this year likely to be a bit more (all of which I and most people will gladly pay)

We will be having bands, like last year. We had a showground last year, but is was close to houses and we couldn't make any noise after 11.

Needless to say it sucked big time.

I like the campsite idea - has anyone been to one in the midlands at all? Or maybe a farmer who wants to lend us a field?

There's too many home fires burning and not enough trees

This may be too far down the country - but the Bath and West showground is a suggestion. They do already hold an extreme sports weekend. Website: https://www.bathandwest.co.uk/

Three Counties is a massive site. Might be pretty expensive too but it'd be a great location.

I thought possibly Long Marston Airfield near Stratford Upon Avon where they hold the Bulldog Bash (annual hells angels bike festival). I doubt there would be a problem with noise there.

Apparantly they also hold some kind of big dance music festival there with attendance in the 35k region. Godskitchen or something like that.

Could somebody stop the room please... I'd like to get off

oh ok. I was like woooooooooooo! I don't have to do a contact staff workshop! It was restful. I remember standing about watching it while doing dual fishtails.... ahhh those good old days of sunshine.

In other news: I really don't think you are the taking my offer of my backgarden seriously, which makes me dissappointed in you dunc. So I think I might have to rescind it, and the use of the industrial sized barbeque...
