Hello wave

I hope you're all eagerly awaiting news about PLAY 2006, well so are we! We're having troube finding a venue that meets our requirements, primarilly

a) Is cheap enough to keep ticket price down
b) Is in (or roughly in) the Midlands
c) Isn't just an empty field

Sounds simple you may say, but alas not so far. If anyone knows of any decent venues can you let us know here? Did you go to a little festival last Summer in a nice quiet tucked away place in the countryside somewhere perhaps? Did it have anything like running water etc?

If you can think of anywhere please post whatever details you have, or send a pm to me instead if you fancy smile

Thanks! hug

waiting very eagerly...

would it be cheaper to get a field and hire loo's etc? or does that provide more hassle/cost than it's worth? umm

or find a fairly basic campsite in the middle of nowehere i.e.montford bridge or wem and offer to buy them out in pitches for a weekend,if they're only charging a couple of quid a pitch per night and you promise a couple of hundred folks they might do a decent deal.ticket prices hopefully wouldnt be too high either then,
both those sites are remote but have loos and water, might be worth a look.

It needs to be able to camp over 300 people with space for a marquee and workshops (think 300 people all spinning in a field ubblove )

We might not need a marquee if the site has buildings, but they need to be big enough for juggling 5+ balls/clubs/staffs in - so quite high

That list looks very good indeed, even if some of the links don't work. Thanks! hug

Dunc are you still planning to hold it over the redundant glastonbury weekend? just coz I know some people have to book their holidays from work well in advance and as I'm starting a new job I can state if I have previously booked holiday.

I had great fun last time and wouldn't want to miss the next. biggrin

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
