Being in a choir, I've been practicing Christmas songs ever since October, and now I can finally sing them aloud without being told off biggrin What do you think?

I'm not a great fan of the religious ones not being religious myself but i love watching carol singers in town when its all cold and dark and lots of lights around, makes me feel all happy.

i tend to only play one xmas song not at xmas and thats The Pogues and Kirsty McCall, Fairytale in New York, you cant beat it!

I don't mind choir type carols, or even the 'normal' style ones on stores' radios. The ones that annoy me are the crappy remixes, that seem to be gaining popularity.

oh yeah! me too, whsmith it was as well.... they have a knack of doing it annoyingly.... you usually get repeats of the same ones throughout the day over five days a week from october onwards.... grrrrrr.... then when, christmas was over it was bloody westlife!! whoever has the job of making playlists for whsmith, i want it, i will make it good... and i will make sure nothing repeats itself...... and i won't play christmas songs! (except maybe in the summer.... just to be irritating...)

i find carollers annoying but that's because we only ever get the one song.... "we wish you a merry christmas.... we're collecting money for the uh... uh... um... us... no! we mean it's for charidee....." "oh yeah, which one?" cue: *stunned silence* umm

i despise them. this is entirely due to my school causing many young children to sings carols / hymns sayin "i love you lord jesus". i personall y see this as too major, and forcing a religion upon people who are too young to have a viewpoint, or understand what they are actually singing.

my two cents.

cheers, pete

Last christmas I had to do a prefect christmas carol concert at the church near the school.
My freinds put up a rebellion by putting their feet up on the pues and swearing as loud as they could in front of the vicar during rehearsals...
I found that discusting, and they got all pissy with me for telling them off, claiming that "Jesus would blow his *expletive* nut off at me for talking down to people in the *expletive* church*
I don't speak to them much anymore...

But I do like carol concerts in churches, when you don't have silly 15 years olds pretending to pray to god asking if he has a big willy..

At least when people ask me I can say who we collect money for smile It's the royal blind school, they let us practice in their hall, so we're paying them back by collecting some money and selling the cards the kids have made smile
