I think that is what got me hocked in the first place, my first spin was with fire, I know, I know it wasn't a good idea. The sound is definatly one of the sweetest noises ever smile

My son and I tried our first burn last night, it was awesome! We've been spinning for a few weeks and decided it was time for some fire "beta testing".

We learned a lot from the HoP website (thanks for the great "Backyard Spinner's Guide to Fire Safety" video), but you also learn by doing.

Here's a video segment in case you're interested (1 1/2 minutes, 10 MB) Video Don't have any kind of a routine down yet, poor transitions, and still need lots of work - but we've got 4 months to get ready for a performance for 100 friends. ubbloco

Thanks for your posts and your help

the adrenalin rush of the first burn its like nothing else
the sound of the fire the knowlege you have control over an element... . . inner peace

For me, there was no real adrenaline rush of the first burn. But my mind is cold and logical about such things.

I knew well enough not to take any risks, try anything I wasn't 100% sure I could pull off. I had every element in order, and as such I knew I was at less risk than I am crossing the street.

But it was still awesome. The roar of the first is one of the things which makes me love it.

There's a fine line between genius and insanity.

.... I ran away from the genius side.

I remember my first time. The roar of a burn off and the sound of the fire cutting through the air. Simply amazing.

Well done with your first burn. smile
