but i got mum to still write pressies from santa to me to make it feel like he was real what a confession oh i was 10 ha ha ha ho ho ho merry xmas to all

i spose its different for everybody, i just remember christmas being the most amazing time of the year when i was a kid and i dont want to forget that

Whats the difference between a myth and a legend again?
I always thought iit was the length of time it had been going on for, like a myth was crazy old.... or sumthing. Probably wrong but who knows!!

I think I found out when I was 9, at primry school, and FATHER CHRISTMAS came to our school. And We all got to go into FATHER CHRISTMAS' grotto and I sat on his knee, then I started crying.... cos I realised it was my daddy dressed up as FATHER CHRISMAS! tragic huh? lol

lol now that my piece of smut has gotten mixed into the thread, I will say I never beleived in santa, niether did I beleive in the tooth fairy or any other nonsense. My parents never really went in for any of that tom foolery! I was just really given food and clothes by my mum and dad and left to my own devices on the farmyard, and I wouldnt have it any other way lol

christmas time was and is still brilliant.
when i was about 4or 5 i swear that i seen santa running out my door with his hair flying back in slow motion kind of like in movies

I experienced something like that.... well when i was like 5 i thinkkk, it was christmas eve, and i was lying in bed, and i could hear bells ringin, which i naturally assumed was father chrstmas. It could have been a cat with a collar for all i know! lol But i presumed it was santa. Thats why it was more of a shock to find out he wasnt real....

isn't it strange how as younge children if you really believe in something you will make it so real but i still get excited for christmas and i still count down the days its just a joyous (if thats a word) time of year to be with all your friends and family i cant wait and i hope everyone has a great christmas

St Nicholas is real, Santa is not.
Santa Claus in common usage is a corporate bastardized combination of St Nicolas (stockings, gelt, ect.) and Cristikins (the christ child who brings gifts in german folklore)... ergo, I never bought into him.

Ok, uhm, it's a bit of both for me, right. Father Christmas is the dude who lives on the North Pole, flies in the sky on a sledge pulled by dears and his day is 25th of December and is sponsored by Coca Cola. Was never really big where I'm from (Belgium). We have Saint Nicholas (aha St Nic/ Santa Claus, get it?). His day is celebrated on the 6th of December and well, I stopped believing in him when I was six, same time the tooth fairy dissappeared. I'll never forget the day (
) Were driving in the car, my mother in a bad mood again when she suddenly said: "Don't expect anything from St Nic this year, he doesn't exist, it was me and your dad all the time buying the presents and I'm just tired of it now. Oh yeah, and while we're at it; the tooth fairy, that was me as well."So, yeah, I buy presents for myself now and still celebrate

i think i was like 6-7 when i found out from my friends and like 8-9 when my parents found out i knew. i'm 25 now and i'm pretty sure i'm still getting santa presents this year. maybe it's time to say something about that. lol.
