Its a good trick for sure, but (sorry) its not a new one, theres a few people who have been doing this for a while now!

there are definitely some people using yo-yo's that are 'pushing the envelope' and some of it may well cross over into poi.
but if you mean they are leading the way in the development of poi moves, you're way off - they are only a very small part of that.
of course, if you can find me a bunch yo-yo players that are playing with the newer techniques being explored by poi spinners (say smooth 90 degree plane changes, antispin, variable isolation, polyrhythms and so on) and i'll take that back

Not sure about whether or not they are infinite Butterfloops or not, but I can tel the difference between a butterfly airwrap and a butterfloop... any help?
I've seen Peopl do infinite Butterfloops as well, BTW.
Trouble is, nowadays, it's really hard to come up with a move that no-one has done before... And if someone does, then everyone learns it, and expands on it, and ends up teaching you variations of it...
That's why I like CJ... So many more possibilities...

olive showed him some isolation and antispin in poi and he played it in jo jo in his show one evening later
he just get in the university of circus by showing what he do
