Posted: No, i'm not under nhs or anything cool yet....
but i have a friend who is, and he's basically been told something by a doctor which doesn't match up with what all other people say, altho it does match up with some. Now neitehr the internet or word of mouth is the best way to get medical treatment... but he would like a second opinion, and has no clue how to get one, nor have i been able to decipher how you would... first opinion was from the head of the dept at the city hospital, so he'd have to go somewhere else entirely....

"If you would like a second opinion on any recommended treatment, your specialist or GP will usually be prepared to arrange this. Or you may ask your consultant to do a consultant-to-consultant referral. "
i suspect this case may still be refused (long story) but at least now i knwo how to try...

Posted: have you tried to get an appointement with a private doctor?
cos their private, they will probably take you on!!
it does cost money, but if it is a serious issue, it will be worth it. and hopefully after a consultation, they should be able to advise you on the best steps to take!
i hope this helps, and good luck!!!
