Swindon's First HoP Meet

Location: Lower Shaw Farm, Swindon, Wiltshire.

Lower Shaw Farm

Date: 3/4/5 February

Price: Fri - Mon: £25, or £10 per night

Price includes: Fri and Sat evening meal (vegan but damn good, that's coming from a meat-eater!); Breakfast (on a help yourself and help each other basis); approx. 35 beds available, plus warm indoor crash space, maximum capacity of 50 people. Everyone must bring sleeping bags. EVERYTHING on first come first served basis!

Various activities available in surrounding area chosen by you. A few ideas: Possible trip to nearby (20min car journey) stone circle

or to local park for mass fire fun (not enough space for everyone to spin at once on the farm)

There is some indoor spin-space incase of evil evil rain.

There will be campfires, possible fire-sculptures if people are interested and are willing to chip in a couple of quid for the paper edge roll (more details can be got if interest is expressed).

Anyway, that's enough for now.

Much love, Jacob ubbrollsmile

ok, a barrage of questions for you... so actually it doesn't take so long from cardiff, one hour on the train but to swindon train station. question is how far is it from this place, is there a closer one? and will anybody be sober enough to pick me up about 19:30 ish on the saturday night?

ooh and do i still get this fantabulous vegan saturday night meal arriving at that time and staying for just one night? do you have to book also or is it all arranged that people can turn up whenever for however long?

We have a couple of other 'activities' to do . . .

1. Wassailling the apple orchard with fire and cider!!!!!

2. Imbolc - The Festival of Renewal. Imbolc is one of the great fire festivals of the year, the festival of the abiding goddess, Brigid, the goddess of fire and inspiration! So, earth candles will be lit, and fire will be spun!

I'm getting well excited now! I will put a renewed list of attendees up at some point. And if people are driving, could you let me know, and if you will be around Sat day for a trip to avebury . . .

Nice . . . juggle

Emma - I found this . It'll give you a rough idea. Basically we're trying to get rid of all the bad spirits of winter so we have good apples next season. it's quite fun and an excuse to drink nice cider biggrin

(don't worry about the shotgun bit. we don't do that. we do fire)

ello ppl, i am driving from torquay through exeter, the journey according to the aa route guide is 136.6 miles, if i were to go via bideford it would make it 219 miles! thats one way. goign via Salisbury on the other hand that only addes on 18 miles. that one might be possible you see. i think that i will have 2 seats in the car spare but whoever is there will have to share with a large amount of clubs, staffs and two unicycles. on and some several sets of poi. oh and no i have not met ninja dave i dont think.
