For EJC Ireland 2006, we have secured the use of the largest indoor

hall in Ireland, with plenty of fields for tents, camping and fun, all

on the same site. We realise that the dates are significantly earlier

than many of you were expecting, but if we held the EJC in August, as

in previous years, we would be unable to use a site of this quality.

Our priority is to deliver a great convention, and that is what we are

concentrating on doing!

Now added to the website :

Travel Information

Photos of the hall

Accommodation Options

Forums now added - arrange lifts to Millstreet, and chat about the EJC here!

Please direct any questions or comments to info@ejc2006.net

We look forward to seeing you all here!

Helen

Helen, is the festival getting any meadia coverage or that this year?? My mate has gotten into poi lately aswell and he has his own media company so maybe we could go shoot it and put it on promo dvd's for next year it would cost us lil or nothing to do! Any ideas??

We already have someone lined up to do our official DVD, which will be available to buy after the convention. But anyone is welcome to film, provided any artists featured don't mind, as long as the footage isn't used for commercial gain.

And if you do film there - we'd love to see your footage afterwards hug

Gabe, you want to organize guest DJ spots and organize a sound system? Do it. Make it happen.

No; I don't want to organise a sound system, sorry! I am travelling to 8 different festivals in 8 countries in 3 months, will arrive in Ireland with far too much luggage already and am in no position at all to organise Irish sound systems. Is there not one already in the hall? Surely?!? It's a convention centre, not a playa!

I could certainly be involved in some sort of volunteer roster for sets though. And I will arrive with heaps of cool music on laptop for cool juggle jam/spinning and definitely chill smile

Which will contain absolutely no psytrance ubbloco whatsoever. tongue

My thang is electro/world fusion. You will definitely hear the music of the extremely cool Rashid Brown who I met in the Souk in Fes yesterday. ubblove And Twisted Nerve for the Ubercrew wink

.....Can't juggle balls but I sure as hell can juggle details....

Yep yep...

If I've understood this right (no doubt Helen will be along shortly anyways)...

Kila are playing on Wednesday 12 July, by strange coincidence ( wink ) just after the Irish Open Stage...

(The Irish Open stage, btw, is going to be a fabulous event, showcasing the best of Irish juggling/circus talent - and I hope you'll all be there, cos I'm putting it together biggrin)

Anyways, after (hopefully) a couple of hours of juggly/entertaining goodness - we can move tents to the Big One... where Kila will have us all twirling about until we get dizzy and fall over...

Hurrah biggrin

I can't seem to find a note about Kila on the main EJC site... although granted I may not be looking at the right place (currently, I'm looking under "programme", but they aren't listed as far as I can see). Are they a new addition to the EJC agenda?

Oh, oh! So, I'll be flying into Manchester around the 5th. My plan is to fly RyanAir to some... Irish place. Does this make sense? Anybody driving to that ferry thing? I'm up for any adventure the moment I land. I want to be at the EJC from day one. Flying to Manchester is much cheaper than flying to Irenland from Canada.

Anybody is allowed to make me any fun offer, like: "Hey, fly into London and stay at our cool warehouse and then we're taking the air balooon over," or something like that.

...or, "Hey, come to Ireland right away, and stay at our such-and-such a place under the rainbow, until we all drive over to the EJC on the 9th."

Whoo-hoo. One month and counting, pretty much!

About Kíla:

It's all true, they are playing, on Wednesday 12th as Clare says, after the Irish Open Stage. And they are going to be fantastic. And so is the Irish Open Stage.

That is my official statement on the matter.

And yes, the programme on the website lies. And yes, i will be updating it very soon. And yes, there are many more fantastic things to be included.

...Or so I hope.

I'll be teaching workshops, yes. I'm hoping to do some kind of performance, but I'm not very prepared, so it might be pretty casual. I'm hoping to put a real act together this coming year... but man, did this website/dvd thing ever get out of hand...

But yes, Yellow bus, visiting Claire, lots of fun to be had!!!

Poi really should be represented on the stage at the EJC! And a certain other spinner won't commit himself to performing either...(you know who you are...)

Um... That'd be nice certainly but there are certainly a section of jugglers that vocally hate poi.

Then again, if anyone was gonna win them over, it'd be Nick. I got your back bro. biggrin

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

i realised i've never actually met one in real life - i'd love to talk to one of them one day...

people that hold those kind of views are less 'jugglers that hate poi' and more just 'twats' imo.
