I know most of you including myself call them gigs, but of course a gig is performing musically for an audience.
And as Ravehead told me less than 5 minutes ago, saying a public performance over and over sounds anally retentive.
So what would be a better word for it? a show?
Any other ideas? biggrin

I use "Gig" - I don't think it necessarily means musical performance, it doesn't even mean "performance" really.

I think "show" can be appropriate for choreographed sets/perforamnces, but i wouldn't call freespinning a show (although I guess it is)

"Performance" just sounds about over-the-top to me - but to each their own smile

A "set" is part of a routine in a gig wink

"As in - then we've for the double-staff UV set, before the fire poi set"

My dictionary said "gig" was "a job usually musical"

I just call it a fire show.

Or a display....depending on what type of crowd I am performing for.

i still kinda think proformance, show sounds very offical to me. mostly i just call it going for a spin, but i guess thats mostly for just bumming around. not so much anything fancy. and it depends on if your getting paid or not too i think. if i were geting payed as if it were a gig, non musical or corse, then i would say profomance (but i cant spel that tongue hehehe)

What if we think the jokes on them,
But really - the jokes on us....

Yes it was coolness, though it seemed rather disorganised and hectic to me!
I was made go go up first argh! We spun for about half an hour, i didn't take one break! i was kinda hyper redface then the bonfire got lit and the others sat in the performing area and sipped cocoa in while i played with my beamers, then i got my strobers out and had a swing with two other girls while the fireworks went off, for the audience of course ubblol oh and then we had a quick burn afterwards. got some fire footage but not a lot. the music was as you can imagine - awful! but there was the funfair there and hot food vans mmmmmm so all in all it was great!
