I'm getting my hair chopped off tomorrow but really don't know what style to go for so I'm going to ask you guys to help me come up with something.

I have long-ish hair now (it reached 2" below my collar bone) it is very, very thick and there is lots of it (I have to stress this because it bushes out if it gets cut wrongly and I end up looking like a hedge). It has a slight natural curl to it but if it is cut short the curl is more obvious. The weight of it holds most of the curl out when its long. It's mousy brown.

I utterly HATE the mullet cut thats doing the rounds again at the moment so don't even go there. ubblol I have very pale skin.... so no dying it black unless you want me to look like a vampire.

So........ Get finding pictures and post them up for me please biggrin

p.s. Yes Jonny, it is getting cut, even if it ends up as only a trim tongue

Something simple like light foils?

Chopped to shoulder length?

Layered a bit (not mullet like though!) just enough to give it a bit of a lift?

A little side fringe thingy?

*shrugs*

I'm just throwing random ideas!

All the best with it smile

eek NO! I love your hair.

If you are adamant to cut it, get it thinned and feathered/choppy so it adds some texture to it without spoiling the length. I think that would look lovely on you.

I read this quote in Elementary School and it stuck with me ever since.

"A woman's hair is her mystery. Daytimes, it's pinned up. But at night, alone with her man, the pins come out and it hangs loose like a shining cape." -A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Keep it long. Long hair is pretty. "Long Hair" and "Well Educated" are the only two consistancies I've found among ALL of my girlfriends.

Which is why I'm so happy now... I like being the dumb one with short hair. ubbangel

Ok NYC I have to say that you have given a typical male response. Nearly every man that I have dated/lived with loved me having long hair and would beg me not to get it cut, but every night in bed when snuggled up and trying to sleep, they would moan about it being in their face.

I really need a cut that takes no effort. I hate blow drying my hair and I'm not really into all that preening in front of the mirror.

Wow, you sound like me. Although I've finally grown my hair out again after years....

Altho not *every* man has complained about it being in their face. I have NO idea what mulletly thing you're talking about, altho it scares me to think that brits might be embracing any kind of mullet cut *shudders*

anyway, couple questions
1. Does conditioner help to keep it tame, or is it just going to billow out and become bush like no matter what?
2. Does conditioner make the curls more or less?
3. is it just curling on the ends, literally, or does it continue to be wavy up the hair for a little bit?
4. Any idea what shape your face is? (the hoodie does a pretty good job hiding things I must say!)
5. Does it get frizzy/have flyaways much?

I totally understand your perspective. The brilliant thing about my current haircut is extremely odd weather not withstanding I can wash it, and then put in a tiny bit of leave in conditioner stuff, and forget about it other than maybe combing my fingers thru it once of twice over the day.... ubblove

Wear a pair of dark glasses so that you cant see in the mirror so you can pretend you have a totally different hairstyle every day.

So true!

Ermmm, if you have the money to keep getting it redone... I had some tiger stripes put through my hair a few years ago and it looked great (we have the same colour hair lady).

Ask for some nice red and blonde lowlights - nice and subtle, but really lovely.

Keep it long though, maybe layered a bit.

Good luck biggrin hug

Do we really need to know about who's moaning what in your bed?

I've never complained about long hair.

And the things that girls like about guys are also usually less exciting when stuck in one's face. Sometimes.

"Oh sure, girls say they like my car and then when they're sleeping and I drive over their face they get all mad... "

You're so brave - i get my hair cut like once a year and then its just like cut off the manky bits and blow dry it nicely. i'm so terrified of it turning out awful and then my hair not growing - and i dont even look good in hats! when i was younger my hair was so long i cud sit on it and some nasty boys came up behind me and cut off a chunk right up by my ear and it was such a big chunk that i had to have it levelled off to around my ears! i was devastated and now hairdresser phobic.
