I normally wouldn't advocate assassination, but someone really needs to get this man OUT of office. It's like having Prince Philip as your national ambassador (you know... him that has a habit of saying "your problem is you're all foreigners")

I would have started a thread about this, but then decided not to. I'm so tired of people hearing me rant about Bush and assume I'm ranting about Americans. Also, they think when I rant about America, I'm ranting about Americans. That's not true. I have exactly 2 things to say about this:
1. If it was a piece of political maneuvering, then all kudos to whoever wrote the script, because it's made it difficult for religious extremists to accuse America and the West of being "Godless".
2. If it was actually meant... then it means that the most powerful nation on earth is governed by a man who hears voices in his head...
After much consideration, I find that the view is worth the asphyxiation.

in some ways it seems like Bush has thought "wow, some of them are blaming this on God, that's not a bad idea"

i agree. if we didnt have organised relogion and every1 accepted the fact that ppl wioll not always agree wtih them, then the world would be a far better place...fundamentalists...ugh!

and, another note about bush lately... seems he's going to veto a spending bill because it contains a rider saying its not ok to torture people.....
"congress is trying to tie our hands in the war on terror", says the admin...
well, as a friend of mine put it.... if they think that torturing people is ok, then they d*mn well should have their hands tied.....

I think saddam was an ass, I'm glad hes gone. The US should have had him out of power in the 1990 gulf war. then there wouldn't have been such a stink with whats going on now.

note that these claims were made by the palestinian negotiator nabil shaath who says this was said during the june 2003 talks with israel.
i saw this on the news and if i remember correctly, he claimed bush said all this 'during a break' in the talks.
he said:
"president bush said to all of us:
"i am driven with a mission from god.
god would tell me, 'george, go and fight these terrorists in afghanistan'. and I did.
and then god would tell me, 'george go and end the tyranny in iraq'. and I did.
and now, again, i feel god's words coming to me, 'go get the palestinians their state and get the israelis their security and get peace in the middle east'. and by god, i'm gonna do it." "
no mention of it appears in the post-talks reports and the claims have not been substantiated by anyone else present.
i'm sceptical, not just of bush's competence but also of claims like this that can do little else apart from inflame the discussion of bush's already heavily criticised decision-making process.
