just posting to see if i can get any help/advice. I'm working on the corkscrew and within 20 minutes i pretty much got the movement worked out. My only problem is that i keep hitting myself in the stomach with the ball/tail when im bringing them in front of me after going over my head.
Any tips? or am i just doing it completely wrong? confused

(4t beat corkscrew and 5bt weave = same (ISH) hand movements but different names)

Yes that makes sense to me, doing a 6 bt corkscrew fell just like a 7 bt weave. Where do you think that extra beat goes missing?

Posted:it doesnt go missing.. its the angle.. when you do crosshanded moves, even beat moves fall lopsided.. but when you do even beat moves, odd beats fall lopsided.. a 4 bt corkscrew is the exact same as a 4bt weave, but because of the angle, you dont get the unevenness to it.. so it feels like a 5bt weave.. hence the same ISH movements when they really arent the same.. its just the symmetry you feel not the actual motions..

i dunno what im doing but it looks different to a normal corkscrew and it feels like im doing a five beat on the bottom but not on the top, cos im just untangling on the top....so i think i might only be doing a 3bt corkscrew (if that makes any sense)
