Hi Shawn.

I love Yo-yoing so much. Ive just bought the latest Bone Chip by Dif-e-yo. Should be coming any day this week. But ive been using the Cold Fusion by ProYo for a couple of months.

If anyone hasnt tried Yo-yoing, try it, its awesome, doing all the awesome tricks such as Cold Fusion which was my first master trick i learnt is most fun and its a nice thing to put in your pocket and practise everywhere.

Unlike Poi and Staff there are not many places to get decent yo-yo stuff from in england. Im constantly having to buy new strings and yo-yo's form America.

I never really needed to learn from the websites as i have a fantastic yo-yoist friend who i go to school with, he teaches me everything. I'd say the first tricks to learn would be Trapeezers, front and side ways ones and just mess around with them.

Woo.. I was starting to lose hope that anyone here was interested in the little spinning things.

I agree about portability. I've been getting into diabolo lately, but it is a pain that I need a lot of space for many of the tricks (not to mention lugging around the diabolos and sticks themselves). I can always have at least one yo-yo with me at all times..

Just curious, who is the friend? I wonder if I know him? Arron or Luke by chance? Yeah, I'm lucky that there is a store local with a club, though I used to order a lot online. I haven't actually bought much for while, except an Aquarious to practice more offstring. My Speeder is solid for string stuff and I'm notorious with using older string than I probably should..heh

Bone Chip should be great. I wish I had more $$$ for the flashy stuff like that. Should be a real step up from the Cold Fusion, which is really kind of dated at this point..

Offstring Rules. Naa sorry my friends called Sam or Mozza wot eva u wanna call him but i class him as being very good. He's just starting offstring which i have to say looks totaly amazing. Not him he sucks but the pros make it look awesome. Anyone whoever is reading this do take a look at Shorns link i watched some last night and personaly was flabagasted as i usually am every time i watch something like that. Love it.

Yeh I'm very excited about my Bone Chip, the Cold Fusion was getting very out of date and is annoying trying to do string tricks. How long you been yo-yoing as i class offstring to be pretty hard so im taking your really good. hehe.

I've been yoing for a while now. I got into it more seriously at around 1998 and been doing it on and off (but mostly on) since then. As for how good I am.. I dunno. I feel pretty small compared to a lot of the people out there these days!

Can see a freestyle I did early this year here if you're curious. I wish I was smoother and faster, but at least I didn't crash and burn..

I don't know what kinds of tricks you can do now, but I wouldn't be too afraid of starting some off-string. Even just throwing the yo-yo, landing it on the string, and returning it is very cool. Then can throw it high and catch it. Then do some somersaults. I'd say offstring suicides are easier than onstring. Some people find vertical offstring boingy to be easier than the regular boingy onstring. You might also find whips easier to do offstring (though running after it every time you miss is a pain..haha).

Something like an aquarius also makes things easier. When I started to try offstring originally, I was using a Viper which is much smaller and so easier to mess up with. Just give it a shot and see what you can do..

Hey Shawn i like the video. Its pretty awesome. What yo-yo you using there? My Bone Chip has finally come today!!!!!!! how happy am i? Shame that its at my friends house as he ordered it and i cant get it untill school time Monday morning.

Nynd, thanks! I was using a Speeder, which is a pretty solid player. I think it is at the point now that most of the yo-yos out there are good enough to do just about anything. I'd still like to a flashy aluminum at some point when I get more $$$, though...

I've just got myself some yo-yo's.... finally

I want to get good but looking for any yoyoers out there is tough

I just picked up the old school coke spinner I had as a kid (well got it free when I bought a couple)

and I love it

got a henry's viper and a yomega strobe-yo

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Mynci, well there is a bunch of yo-yo players in the UK. I wish I'd seen your post earlier, because the UK Nationals just happened this past Sunday..

Anyway, I'd check out this forum to see if there's any people in your area:

Coke yo-yo should be good for looping and some basic tricks. Viper is pretty good for learning offstring. I'd try to see if you could get your hands on a yoyojam or duncan, since they'd work a bit better for most things..

*bump* met a great yoyoer called randy from canada recently he has developed the fire yoyo and taught me loads got to love the super boing and the jail break and now to just work a bit harder on the mach 5
