hey chicks
I'm just about to go back on the pill as without it I feel like a stressed teenager. so is it just me - does the pill have a placebo effect on moods, or does it really help with "female problems"?

depends on which ones you take. But a lot of women find that it does tend to 'calm them down, or balance out their hormones a bit more.

I'd say so, it certainly helps with cramps... (i used to turn green for three days out of every month... i still get cramps and they can still be pretty bad occasionally... but at least i can walk...)

i think it's supposed to balance hormones aswell as prevent pregnancy, which is why it works for cramps, regularity and moods... or perhaps that's how it prevent's pregnancy as well... perhaps google it?

oh... and you know the guys are gonna come in here wanting to know what they're not allowed to see before they realise it's for their own protection...

I would think that the pills affects moods in a mind over matter way.

But I'm probably wrong.

I'm on the pill and I don't feel any different.

Maybe if you're getting stressed and down...maybe resort to anti depressants instead of birth control. Just a suggestion.

i was thinking that myself - it could be late onset of post natal depression - but its not the baby that gets me down, it's my 4year old's moods and the boyfriend (his whole attitude towards me.) Maybe I just want out!
I have an appointment with the doc in an hour and a half so i'll have a chat to her about it.

pills do affect moods... my friend had to come off hers since all she did was crying all day! But then it's different with everyone... good luck smile

Well, it releases hormones in you./... of course it can effect moods... actually have a friends mum who was put on it to steady her, not precisly mood wise but physically, but both worked out in her case. But it does things differently for different people cause they have different hormone balances....

I've been back on the pill for a while now....and it definitely has it's benefits. The cramps seem to be getting better each month.

There are so many different types of Pill to chose from, which all have different side effects..... hope you're doctor listens to what you need and finds a solution for you.

Good luck

yup id have to agre, was on it for about 3 years but decided to have a break, i dont care if doctors say theres no long term damage/effects etc but id rather have a resting period before either going back to that or, like star have an implant.

star you got any more info on them, i dont know that much...
