Simple, and quite common hug question among Poi players . . .

So can you do THIS move?

To learn - read. To know - write. To master - teach . . .

Cole - firstly hug

Secondly - you don't seem to understand what I'm saying frown

And I can't explain any more clearly than I have.

Sorry.

Please don't go round in any more circles - I think I have said all I want to and need to more than once already.

Written by: cole

the point i was trying to illustrate was that your timing is good, therefore you don't see any benefit in working on spinning split-time.

This is probably the opposite of what I was trying to say. Argh I'm all sad now. Please read it all again if you want to continue talking about this - (although i think everything has been said already). I really hope I haven't said that anywhere because it isn't what I mean at all.

I dont know why this thread makes me sad, but it does. I certainly dont feel like picking up poi and doing heaps of practice 'drilling the basics'. Ah well.

I agree with Fluffy.

josh - hug - it's not a sad thread. It's good, useful, positive and enlightening to understand/drill basics if you want to. If not, just roll about in the sunshine and try not to do it on any thistles.

just enough time to quickly jump back on this thread where i left off, sadly no time to read all the other stuff. FNF - i think we may have been talking across crossed wires at the point i dived in because i was on about motion theory, not timing....

after an interesting chat with dom yesterday my thoughts have begun to change on that... but thats for another day...

as someone wisely said - its all a matter of choice

did i leave the iron on?

i'm off downstairs now to use a computer with quark - i might have a mockup flier by the time i come back upstairs but it really all depends on who is sitting behind me...

I think you're missing the point slightly, to do that move is very very easy, to do that move with good timing is very very hard, this thread is ALL about timing and precision.

Yup, its about timing, but it's relative conception. But I dont know where is the poin of discussion.
There is Intime & Split time or Parallel time, Follow time, butterfly time & Split time. Its well known terms.

Ok, to add something,

Can someone tell me, why many people after they learn Weave from Figure 8, after some time "forgot" to make their Figure 8 again?

the answer is in this thread - everyone has a different answer.

Some people just forget.
Some people don't forget - and they remember and revise and re-learn all the time.
Some people don't mind if they remember or forget.

It would be funny if we learned to walk, then run, then forgot to walk biggrin

SO many poiple are missing out the essential basics these days imo, then they get all frustrated when they can't do the trickier stuff.

So, after reading the question, viewing the clip, and then reading through the thread, I went back to watch the clip again, and I noticed that the clip itself is not shown to have the spinner with poi 180 degrees apart..... So should the question be "can you do this move perfectly?" and then who get's to decide what perfectly is?

Just a question, just an opinion.

I smile because I have no idea what is going on...
