So i'm almost wanting some fire poi and I wanted some monkey fist ones . But then i looked at the prices and got a nasty shock! eek Sooooo expensive. I looked about a bit and saw a few articles about how to make them and I think I want to have a go at that. Most of the componants you need are on the HOP Shop, but not the wooded balls to go in the middle. Does anyone know where you can get these from? Even good old ebay let me down frown To be honest i'm a bit stumped.

I get mine from Michaels , in America.
They have every size from 1/4" to 2 1/2" diameter, and cost about $3 or 4 for 10.
Most craft stores should carry something similar.

I first used aluminum cylinders for my monkeyfist core, but recently I switched to a double ended eye-bolt design, with a smaller mf knot of wick as the core for the larger monkeyfist. The added wick gives me added burn time, and the weight is about the same (maybe a tad lighter).
