hardware stores usually sell 'pre packed paraffin' which comes in 4l containers and is dirt cheap but pretty smokey or 'lamp oil' which is much less offensive on smoke but normally in much smaller containers and much more expensive.

1l of lamp oil can cost as much as 4l of paraffin.

Personally I use dirty, smelly, cheap paraffin. It normally contains less naptha and benzene than lamp oil too. They use a lot of nasty chemicals to get rid of the smoke and smell.

Camping shops also sell coleman (white gas) fuel. I've never used it though. Supposedly it burns hotter than paraffin.

I was under the impression that Wal-Marts were everywhere. Was I mistaken?

Well Wallmart has started to appear over in the UK but it's basically because they are the same group as ASDA thus the larger stores tend to be 'ASDA Wallmarts' or something like that. We only have Tesco, Safeways (well actually Morrisons now but you know), Sainsbury's and an ALDI near me.

Could somebody stop the room please... I'd like to get off

As of a few years ago Wallmart bought Asda (the cheapest/scummiest chain in the UK excluding QuikSave), but Asda stores are food supermarkets with a small selection of clothes and other items. They don't do hardware, guns etc or carry the same stock as the US version.
