scorchedearth, flamingtogas, burntpizza, toastercrumbs, firewater, firestone, airburn, giant balls of fire raining from mars, small and bright in the center of the middle of the tiny seed in your heart, photosynthetic alimentary combusting parthogenesis!, raging firestorm across your field of vision, gouging into your flesh in third degree, sprouting phoenix-burst, warming your soul, laughing spirit in small sparks, unscathed, kindled, catch it!
i just got 60 seconds, here goes:

MikeGinny, it means ya got a time limit of 5 minutes, just free-associate fire things which come to mind.
it's a hybrid offshoot of (1) slam poetry, which has a 5 minute limit for performance pieces, usually very well edited & rehearsed beforehand, (2) ex temp/ impromptu/ unrehearsed original whatchacallit, unrehearsed poetry, just go go go off the top of your head & the tip of your tongue, & (3) just plain freestylin (like rappres do), stream-of-consciousness (like psychologists do) & free association, which we all do so well at Home of Poi!

Can't think, brain will melt. oooh, that was another one. That was my first time doing that, so don't laugh. Although I think I might. hehe
