your arms are outstretched in buzzsaw mode,
your left arm weaves a 2beat swing from outside of the arm to the inside while your right weaves from the inside out so you're drawing two 8's.
Whats it called? whats it called? biggrin weavesmiley

I think I know what youre describing and so far it doesnt really have a name because its really just two moves put together (simple circles and a buzzsaw). Guess we can call it an alternating buzzsaw... Or perhaps a buzzsaw crossover?

Tinkle - try this one. Do that move but when an arm goes to the outside, make a full arm circle with it (ie keep your arm fully extended so it does a large circle on the outside) then bring it back in to the buzzsaw - then do the same with your other arm. Just a little variation but it looks nice if you can keep your timing straight.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

hmmm..
another intresting variation (though maby not as beautiful):
instead of going from insides(bussaw circles) to outsides(normals)
go from bussaw circles to crossarm cricles.
still 2 beat.

what about it? fun? :]

fire is just light and heat.
it's you friend!

I used to call it the buzzsaw weave too, even though it doesnt weave just because I didnt know what else to call it.. I figured that would be unacceptable on this board though so I changed it to a buzzsaw crossover smile

That move always reminds me off doing a buzzsaw type movement with double staff- your hands are doing the same thing only with poi, so. I don't know. go ask someone who does staff, maybe they have proper name for it, or it might jyst be callled a buzzsaw. ubbidea wink

good point prickly leaf - its almost identical to the double staff buzzsaw.

i find it really hard to do with sticks cos mr knox (who taught it to me) made me do it quartertime (a cross) which is really hard but obviously looks amazing.

this move in quartertime with poi however looks crap.
which is handy cos its almost as hard as it is with sticks ubbrollsmile

I like the look of quartertime iso buzzsaws though, they form a lovely cross pattern. A proper fountain out of them would be very nice. Shame they're so bloody hard though!

quartertime iso buzzsaws :], that it would be an inverted buzzsaw, but this is different vilage.

Right, both hands do figure 8, so it looks like that in fact this move is set up from two more simple. Than it could be
Double - Buzzsaw Figure-8.

Err... ? All buzzsaw are not inverted just those that use inversion(inverted planes). If you say all buzzsaws are inverted than the move Tinklepants want too give a name is inverted and I dont think so. wink

buzzsaw = inverted depends on who you ask..

some people will say its a 0 degree inversion.. like the inverted equivalent to a reel..

others will say its not inverted.. just in between planes.. since inversions have a different kind of 'pull' to the center.

regardless of who you ask I dont think the above is inverted by either definitions since you need two poi to make an inversion.. and hers only has one poi in the buzzsaw at a time.. so really she has staggered outside planes.. one far out, the other facing outside, but closer in.. an exageratted version of what we do when we twist a weave, or ttn..
