hello wave

does anyone know about cats?

i'm more of a dog person myself but i foresee a cat entering my life in the not too distant future and i'd like to think it might look something like this:

smile

what would be really great is if i could get a breed name for this type of cat.

they have blue eyes, grey fur and are among the cutest things i've ever seen.

here is a picture of another one:

any help you might be able to offer me in the identification of this cat type can be repaid in the future in the form of tax deductable hugs from me and, more appropriately, will endow you with noncustodial visitation rights visits with said cat - i.e. you'll be welcome to come and play with the kitten ubbrollsmile

owwwww how cute!

you could use them like fluffy poi - tie them to the ends of some string -
or attach fire chains to their collar and shine a light so their eyes reflect. wicked noise they'll make too as they whizz past your ears - mmmmmeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww

Don't set them alight though, that's just cruel....

The feline in question looks very much like a cat I have....it is mostly "Ragdoll"...called such because when picked up, they go completely limp...involunterally so.....

A lot of different breeds seem to exhibit the blue eyes tendancy- sometimes this may also mean that the cat is deaf. On a brief search I cam across reference to the Turkish Van, Turkish Angora and Birman - all of which have the mid-long lenght hair that your kitten pic shows.

The Siamese and Burmese type cats may also have blue eyes, but they have much shorter fur and a very distinctive body shape and coat colour.

Personally I love Maine Coons, but thats more for their coat then their eyes biggrin

Sorry, not much in the way of an animal lover, we have a mutual arrangement where I don't annoy them, and they don't annoy me. Although, I was chased by sheep recently confused

I saw a cat just like that a couple of years ago in a pet store, loved it so much I very nearly took it home straight away!

Have no idea what type it is, but I think it's more likely to be Turkish Angora because it's so fluffy. Doubt it's British or Russian blue though, they tend to have shorter hair when they're kittens.

All you ever wanted to know about Russian blue cats and more , although they seem to have pointier noses than your cute little kittens up there.

It's very cute but I doubt it's a Turkish Van because the colour pattern is wrong. It could well turn out to be a ragdoll but could equally be a Birman. A friend of mine had two of the cutest and fluffiest kittens that were Birmans, and have grown up to be total tarts.

Birman! That's it! I'm pretty sure that's what the pet store lady said the kittens I saw were. hug Thanks!

Cole, if the kitten you saw was the same kind as the kitten I saw a few years back, I think Gothmuppet has got it right.

OOOh kitties! Im a real cat lover I grew up on a farm with 12+ cats so every so often we had an explosion of kittens in the barn. These cats where of course all stray 0_o but they basicly decided we where better owners lol. One of them was a russian blue wich since left us when we took it to another farm, guess it missed its kittie friends :'(

A Tonkinese is my favourite breed

I really really really really REALLY want a cat too! Asking the new landlord if we can get one, hope he says yes! (Unfortunately am not getting hopes up too much yet, most landlords are pretty anti-cat.)
