Posted:Ok guys, I've done searches galore, I've had step by step help and I still haven't got anywhere near a fountain. I'm reading the instructions, but it just won't register with what I'm supposed to be doing! It's all got jumbled in my head as there's a lot of room in there ubblol

So. Can someone point me in the direction of a video with an example in it please? preferably one where you can see where the arms are going so I can see where I'm going wrong. Failing that, you could mail me a vid instead using my email address, which you'll find posted in the email address thread in the chat forum.

If I don't figure it out soon I really will cry!!! ubblol

Can we please have less arguing over there is/isnt a windmill in a fountain..

At the end of the day its what everyone is comfortable with.. If you dont wanna put a windmill in it dont.. if u do and want to make it look snazzy.. do it.

Lets not argue over it tho..

Now lets kiss n make up ok!!

As Mr. NYC stated, the fountain is a club swinging pattern, which has been translated to poi, and it's never had a windmill in it. See Stones video.

I'm up for coming up with a name for the weave>windmill>rev weave pattern, just so we have something to call it, and when this discussion comes up again, we can say " that's not a fountain, it's a xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

So can you invert that so that you keep the poi heads together? While one arm does a longarm, teh other an isolation? Right?

confused

I think you mean, if you did a hybrid, but with the hands split-time instead of together, would you end up with same-time ?

Posted:Yeah, that part's not quite accurate - it actually means 'this is the front half of a windmill in front of the head', since you can't do a windmill that's entirely in front of your head.

So, a fountain contains half a windmill, but not a full one.

Posted:Correction. You CAN do a full windmill in front of your head using inside planes... However, I think we have another name for that.

Regardless, there is no windmill in a fountain.

That pic's of the opposite shoulder circle - the bit after the top circle.

If the windmill was in the fountain, the top circle would be behind the head and the next circle, the opposite shoulder circle, would be in front. Since it's not, it shows that the fountain doesn't contain a windmill.

edit.. extra bit.

Out of interest, do you dispute that a fountain has 6 circles for each club?

I'm holding to Jillings' definition, which has 6 circles, but with a windmill added, you're going to be doing 7 with each club.
