hey all!!
i saw an ad for this event - which is in this teeny lil place that i'm living (murgon...near kingaroy)!!
& there's a big parade through town (that should take oohh...10 minutes if they go real slow!!) & it ends in a fire dancing performance!! anyone know who is doing this performance????do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good to eat!

Maybe they're hoping you'll com along and feel inspired!! Might be worth contacting the organisers and asking...
When is it GIta? Maybe we can organise a Grapefest! Nah that sounds like a bunch of pissheads or wine snobs.......Murgfest?

hehe - i thought about calling them to ask...but i can't remember where i saw the smegging ad!!
i'm pretty sure it's in the middle of october...murgfest?!

Will you still be there? I think I had prolly better stay in town on account of having run myself even more raggedly broke going to Bello... that was great though! Sid the Carnival of the DI rumour substantiate?

i'm going to scam another week of free rent in this house after i finish at work!! yeah i asked jas & chris at your glitter palm hula pool party if they were performing there!! i said to jas 'are you guys doing the shakin'grape festival?' chris (at least i think it was chris...it was late!

WOOHOOOOO!!
so! the shakin' grape festival is THIS FRIDAY!!! & i managed to find/pinch a program!!!
carnival of the divine imagination will be performing at 8pm on friday night!!!
yay! not sure exactly where this performance is happening yet...but hey, murgon's not that big!! so is anyone coming?? it's only a three hour drive from brisbane!! (which isn't as far as it sounds!! you can come straight up the highway, through gympie & then you're nearly there!!!)
seriously though, if anyone does want to make the trek to the lil place i'll be calling home for just a lil bit longer, let me know & i'll show you the sites. that shouldn't take long...

Woo!! It was so good to see a familiar face all the way out at Murgon on Friday!!! Wow! I should check these threads more often -- what a surprise it was to see you there! Nobody knew you lived all the way out THERE!

Not that I expect him to see this thread, but I send many thankyou's into the cosmos for you and Clive (the kind photo man) who made our little visit to Murgon extra special
Upon your advice, we drove soooo slowly back to Brissy... I'm still tired just thinking about it. Wha. It must have been 4 hours or more. But the good news is we hit no roo's on the way home

i got a few photos...i put them up somewhere... it was so kewl to have people fom the outside world (what i call brisbane!!) come visit & play in murgon!!! the locals will be talking about it for a while!! my workmates are still convinced your guys burnt yourselves with the fire eating & trails!!!

the photo titled "burning circles" is the one they had in the paper!! & that's about all they had...no actual mention in the article of your performance!!

Haaaaa! I LOVED this parade so much... it was lead by fire dancers, and trailing behind everyone was a display of fire trucks, fire fighters and the novelty oversized fire safety koala...
What WERE the organisers thinking? ...what kind of mixed messages are we sending the kiddies out there in Murgonland!? Heee!

hey - that koala has a name!
he be blazer the fire safety bear! he usually abseils down the peanut silos in kingaroy at the peanut festival, but this year public liability insurance got the better of him!! yeah yeah i'll be at vegan day!!! i just hope i remember to bring the paper with me!!!
