So I was talking with PWB and we were commenting on how everyone is a snob about something.
We agree we are snobs about remake movies, book-to-movies or worse comic book-to-movies.
I am a complete snob about:
plants- they need to be real and not plastic
less-than "professionals"- people who claim to be professionals who are less than in any aspect of performing (presentation, business, costuming, etc.)
burlesque- it is *not* stripping with a theme
bellydance- *read above*
flash tattoos- please be original and have it mean something
I have friends who are chocolate snobs, wine snobs, beer snobs. One is an absolute grammar snob.
PWB is a complete vehicle snob. If it's rice it ain't right. lol

I am a snob about books...I have to have new books...I refuse to have second hand books or borrow books from a library....
I hate the thought of having thousands of people previously reading the book and putting their hands over all the pages...*shudder*

yeah i'm grammar snob too. not to a huge extent, obviously i'm not that particular about punctuation, but people that write, for example, "there" in situations where it should be "their" or "they're" piss me right off.
And i agree on the bellydance... i am not a stripper.
(Can i defend rice just a little? There's nothing wrong with a nice sleek Japanese import, as long as you don't go stupid with the bling...)

My parents are middle class snobs and i went to a really snobby school.
It programmed me into being a snob myself and I have spend the last few years trying to be less snobby.

Grammar - How are children supposed to learn what is correct if their parents are saying stuff like 'you aint getting none' etc..
Swearing - I hate it when people swear infront of children (esp when it is actually aimed at the child). I would never swear infront of my parents or any of my friends parents and it makes me cringe when i hear other people do it!

...For instance if I really like a band, and then all of the sudden they get really popular, it bothers me...I know it should not (espicially since I am all about good bands getting the money they deserve), but it does. I like to have the "special band" that no one else knows about....

Self-Induced Ignorance: When people talk, or worse, teach about something they know nothing about. Or when they watch one video and think they know everything. It doesn't take much to research anything anymore, just a few clicks, so this particularly gets me.
And let me reiterate..Flash Tattoos- I figured out last night this is what I am absolutely *the* most snobby about when I asked someone about their tattoo and they said, "I walked in and it looked good on the wall so I figured it would look good on me." It gave me such tight booty and I had to fight to not say something. Made PWB laugh.

The wrist rubber bands. I have a recent story about that...PWB's brother showed up wearing an orange one (to stop smoking) the other day. We asked him what it meant. When he said we asked him if he was going to stop smoking and he made a funny face and said "No". WTF????

Many people will go out and purchase race-style additions to a car such as an oversized muffler pipe (that is called a coffee can), a *huge* multi-level wing on the back (a razor head), a scoop hood, and put it on their (usually) japanese made car, which makes all of these things useless and for vanity only. Most of the time, it is done pretty poorly as the real adjustments can be quite pricey.
Then they will deck it out in underbelly neon, tint the glass to an illegal darkness, put colored covers on the headlights and complain that the cops are out to get them when they get pulled over. *That* is ricing.
PWB has drag raced his truck on a legit track and won awards, so his adjustments have been useful (lowered, scoop hood, ground effects all to lower wind resistance). Then he is a mod on a car/truck bb where kids come on and use incorrect terms when they rice up their cars. Drives him crazy, but it is funny as hell for me to watch.
Newgabe, Ford is good for work trucks. That's it.

I suppose with bands, I try to get into the more unknown bands, and I was a fan of GC back around 2000 when no one had heard of them out here, then when Lifestyles came out everyone was their biggest fan because it was "cool to be a GC fan" and I am like that with other bands too... thats just one of the worst.
Barbies: no not the style of cooking (as in Barbecue) or the doll, I mean the people, the girls who look like they are made out of plastic and always have the latest fashions, even if they dont like them, just to fit in...
umm... not sure what else...
