And post your name here in remembrance of those who lost their lives in last weeks attack on London, and in defiance of those who caused it.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

I'm sorry to sound heartless...

Yes, it was a tragic event, yes it was a sad day for London, yes it's terrible what the victims familys/ friends must be going through..

But is this thread really necessary?

I think so.

If the rest of London can pay their respects (busses and trains stopped and observed the silence), as did many business (mine included) then why not HoP?

It's not compulsary, it's for those who actually want to pay their respects and show defiance.

Now you're making it sound like I don't care about the event...

Surely enough respect was paid in the 13 page thread over in Social Discussion.

That's all I'm trying to say.

Never mind...

Well, at least he apologized for it.

I learned after 9/11 that everyone grieves and feels sorrow in their own way. I don't think anyone deserves to be critiqued on how they wish to show sorrow.

I thought the 'two minutes of silence' ceremonies were pretty touching today. Except for the media coverage of reporters shouting through it... "Here we are LIVE at the two minutes of silence at Kings Cross where it is totally silent except for me screaming about how silent it is into the microphone...!" frown

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

And then Noon passed.

Kid fine, though.

The Friday after the attacks in London, when my father and I arrived the Thursday morning, we saw Les Miserables, and just before they started, they asked the audience to do a one minute silence. I thought it was a really good idea, and rather appropriate.
