Okay peoples,Seeings as theres some secret society banter going around, I thought I should weigh in and explain the concept behind the International Fire Registry (IFR) and the FIRETWIRLERS TRAVELGUIDE.The IFR looks after an email list of fire twirlers worldwide. If you wish to subscribe to this list, visit the main registry page
and add your address to the console. The concept of the FireTwirlers Travelguide is to link traveling twirlers with willing hosts in other countries. This saves travelers money, lets hosts meet new people and is generally a lot of fun. So far there has only been one edition ( and as such it is quite small. The next edition is due out on APRIL 10, so if you're interested in participating as either a traveler or a host, send in your details. The general emailout for the IFR contains infromation about gigs, gatherings and fire performance from around the world, as well as keeping everyone uptodate with site news. The next mailout will be out on APRIL 3, so if you have anything you want plugged, please email it in. The last mailout:
clear a few things up, the Registry was started in March 2000 as a place for fire artists from around the world to network and share ideas. It is hosted (for free) by Incendium - hence the address being
Draevon put in a lot of work designing it. However, its not an Incendium thing - its an everybody thing. Without the input and information from everyone who takes part the IFR would cease to exist. Other things you'll find at the IFR:FIRE CARDS - emailable postcards of fire, if you want to be one, send in your photoFIRE PEOPLE - a registry of fire artists from around the world and their contact details, much like the extensive HOP meet others directoryMEMBERS SITES - a way for fire people with websites to get their sites promoted, and to promote the IFR through links and or the banner exchange (you may have seen the IFR banner exchange on the main HOP site)MESSAGE BOARD - not as popular as the HOP board, and no, we don't have smilies. sorryTheres a few other bits and pieces, and the site should be going through a redesign in the distant near future. But anyway, the 'secret' society is already out there, on sites like this one and the IFR, its just up to you to take part in it.registry dog Aifr@incendium.org
