A note to hoppers:
Try not to panic if any of you are trying to make calls into London, or worried about not getting a call from a friend or loved one - the mobile phone networks here are all suspended.
I guess this is a precaution, as mobile phone detonations were used in Madrid.

The BBC have said the police are shutting down mobile phone services incase the terrorist are using the phone system to set off the explosives. Don't panic if phones don't get answered. It may just mean that the system is down.

I have to say that watching the TV, there a lot of walking wounded, most of which look a bit shocked and covered in soot but not many looking badly hurt or bleeding. The police and ambulance personnel are keeping it very calm and moving people away from the area. There does not appear to be any panic, which is good. There have been confirmed 6 blast in the city and the police are saying that they believe they were caused by explosive devices.

yeh, i think despite what they are all saying, tis obvious whats happened, lets be frank, some bastards have been blowing up our city, whether its ira, al quaeda or anything, its obvious, its a targeted attack, i hate it when they say we still dont know if this is an attack or anything, of coruse its a bloody attack!! bit of a coincedence otherwsie

Will, the police are specifically avoiding speculating about the cause of the atatck so as not to create even more panic when there is already such chaos.

tbh the news is pretty confused. There's been very little in the form of confirmed reports, the police arn't giving anything away. The bbc news is really just speculation from experts, phone calls from people who claimed to be there and correspondants listening to rumours.
