hey everyone!

i got some awesome news today!

i entered a poetry contest some months ago, and thought nothing more of it. i got an email today telling me that i am in the final.

i don't care if i don't win. i am just so glad that i have achieved something!

this is the poem:

Life

Life - the strangest word,
You could fly free like a bird,
Or you could be tight in chains,
Living your life dealing with pains,
I feel locked up in my life,
No way to escape from living this lie,
The way you live, the way you act,
It all reflects, it makes you look back,
You can't escape, but past is past,
The world goes by, it passes fast,
Days turn to nights, nights turn to days,
Learn to deal with it in different ways,
You can't forget, you can't pretend,
Will there be a light around this bend?
I see a smile, I hear a cry,
I watch the hours passing by,
There has to be a change, a different me,
So I can go back to living free,
Life - the strangest word,
I want to fly free, like a bird.
