You're just driving natural selection; getting rid of the snails without titanium shells. Be proud that you're helping the driving force of evolution!

I recon slugs and snails can move at lightspeed in the right conditions, so long as no-one is looking at them. They move huge distances when I turn my back on them, if they're on a nice wet lawn.

Why has no-one made a horror movie about carnivorous snails?

I hate stepping on them as well...however I do like throwing them. Especially in Romania where my students are scared of them and are distracted from their work because they are staring at one (yes, i used to let my students work outside)...so i picked it up and threw it away. only to be told by one of my students that God would smite me. I told him God would smite him for ignoring authorty...on second thoughts, that was probably a mean thing to say to an 11 year old!

Garden snails make pretty patterns on my tent, and like to congregate under the flysheet when it's 3 in the morning and all misty.

I'm always throwing snails into a tasty looking patch of plants if they're caught out on the pavement smile

anyway.

Posted:The difference is I don't eat a snail after I tread on it, but I eat a fish if I catch it. Both can be deemed unnecessary, but (don't know if you agree with me or not) a death for no purpose whatsoever, where the body is wasted, is worse to me than one where it is not.
