Hallo to all,

I finally managed to have, in the same place, a videocamera, a friend willing to use it, and the chance to play with fire (ehr, I actually was there for that reason).

I am still trying to understand how to use Final Cut, how to edit video, and all that things that take one lifetime and a half; but I am a bit impatient to show around the very first über-pre-alpha release of a video of mine.

So here is it.

Some notes:

-it would be a good idea to redub the video, just to avoid the dogs yapping and my friend telling "bugger off, I am filming" to anyone that thought that in front of the camera was a very nice spot to watch the show. The problem is that I don't have THAT Gotan Project song. I'll have to borrow it, then understand how to redub, then get to lazy and forget about it.

-no, it's not the best dance of the night; the best ones were for the audience. Then, when everything slowed down, I took the camera and filmed this. As everybody knows, showing off for the camera is not as nice as to do it for the sex and money, ehr, I mean, for the people. There are a couple of fumbles, and so on.

-and I already removed the bodypaint, since I look stupid eating with black and silver stripes in my face (I think).

-besides, the camera lost the focus for some reason.

-and the compression is lousy. AT LEAST, this means the video is only 6 megabytes.

Anyway.

Tell me what do.

Here is the video.

NOTE: some problems with the codec (sorry, I have a mac, it worked well here). I know VLC (any version) works ok; for the rest, I used a quicktime MPEG4 codec, I hoped it was a standard one.

Sorry...

ohhh...I'd love to see you spin. For some reason, I manage to meet other HOPper's, but rarely do I see them spin.

However, it seems I can't open your .avi file with Windows Media player or Quicktime. Do you know what Codecs I need to find in order to make it playable?

Thankies biggrin and I'm happy to see you around here. Does this mean you've finished your thesis? hug

Ops, it seems that VLC (any version, from 0.0.1 pre-aplha) works well. I used some kind of Mpeg4 codec...

Ok, I'll try harder next time, I promise!

It worked for me in MWP but that might because of some codec package i downloaded a while back.

Nice vid, good music, alil small but i guess you are on dialup or sypathtic to there plight. I also liked the single takeness of it with few minor miner errors.

Overall a nice video to find and watch at half 2 in the morning.

Nope, I am in dialup (weeel, more or less), but it was the first try of compression.
THEN my mac decided to eat up the master video, so that I'll have to make a new one.
Sigh.

Ive also got a mac but i cant see the vid. ive found that sorenson 3 (comes with final cut) works well and everyone can see it if they have quicktime 6 or higher (you can download it free from apple.com).

Thanks for the hint, Sandy.
I'll use it for next video (now in the pipeline).
