Well, Saturday was a really nice sunny day and everything seemed to be flowing quite nicely - so I thought I'd record it and make a video as I've been quite slack in that department recently smile

I apologise for the shockingly pale skin but this was the first sunny day of the year ubblol

So, here's 2 videos for your viewing;

Part 1 is some Contact Juggling - nothing too special (it's really hard to glide bare-foot on grass) and I didn't have any music but some ideas and techniques I've been playing with are in there.

Part 2 is some poi - it's a bit too long really, but I was trying to keep it pretty edit-free but then also wanted to get all the different bits in smile

All were done in one take and there's pretty much zero in the way of editting other than taking out bits which were getting repetitive. So, nothing special, but I think they both capture quite well where I'm "at" with CJ and poi at the moment... I was going to do some doubles but ran out of battery smile

Criticism please! biggrin

Can't really say much about the first vid, cept I loved it! The 2nd has some really nice footage of you, those anti-spins are looking soooo much smoother than at firetoys. There's a few too many of the same moves but seeing as it's 9 minutes long I didn't even notice the time going by smile

Go higher on your iso fountain, and work on the transitions at midday at 6:30 points.

The floor pick up is, of course, genius wink

Some of your throw timing could be better, some couldn't be any more precise!

The mindgames type wraps worked really nice, quick and fluid smile

Overall ace! ubbrollsmile

hug thanks for some more videos

oh Springers final thought....lots of peeps are on broadband these days, could you up the quality rate on your vids? Seems such a shame to be all blurry unless it's really small

Oli - Just over 9 minutes smile

Dunc: Link fixed... tongue
I personally think my 6 and 12 flowers are a bit sketchy (especialy the turning ones), as were some of the throws as you mentioned. In the iso'd fountain, I think the timing slips a bit which is where they lose their cleanliness *sigh* yet more practise biggrin

I'll put up a higher quality copy of each if you want - what's an acceptable download size for BB? 50mb? 100mb?

1- get out in the sun more.... you are almost as white as me...

2- if you did number one then you wouldnt need this one: do a white test before filming..

joking aside... I think you have some really good control over your antispinning.. are seperations your new 'base' move? wink
I didnt notice the blurryness.. nor did I notice that it was 9 minutes long until afterwards.. it all just flowed kinda nice..

I dont know enough about contact juggling to really crit the first vid very well but I will say that I feel some of the effect was lost in the distance from the camera.

Your poi vid was nice. I liked your use of the more uncomon flower variations like the anti-spin butterfly and goofy chase ones. You did seem a bit stiff though. I like how you incorporate the glides and stuff into your contact juggling so Id really like to see more movement involved in your poi spinning as well. A lot of times I felt even some simple 360 turns would have added a lot, especially in your flowers. The turns you did do seemed a bit one sided (turning mostly to the right). The timing in your flowers seemed a bit off too. It looks like they tend to stray into same time a lot. In short, I think learning to turn all your stuff 360 both ways would benefit you a lot and all of your stuff could just use a little cleaning up around the edges.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

I thought it was awesome Durbs! smile I guess the only thing I would have liked ot have seen was a little bit slower and a bit more movement in the body, changes of height and turns.

I hope you make it to Common Ground, I think we could all benefit from spending some time flailing poi in your presence.

When's the doubles vid coming?
