Fuzzy Wuzzy Moon Festies!*:.
It’s that time again! Get out your warmest winter woollies, special magic blankies, fluffy leg warmers, ear muffs, stripy long johns, beanies, scarves and gloves! It’s time for the Warm Fuzzy Winter Moonfests!*:.
Wednesday 22nd June (full moon in Capricorn) ~ day after Winter Solstice
Thursday 21st July (full moon in Aquarius)
Saturday 20th August (full moon in Pisces)
So the Moonfest this Wednesday is the day after Winter Solstice!*:. The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year (and longest night!*:.) this means the sunset will be a lot earlier, so come down early in the afternoon for SUNfest to catch a little of that yummy winter sun before it sets in the west and we welcome the moon rising in the east*:.
Bring all your toys…for, jamming, juggling, fire twirling (don’t forget your safety gear and fuel) and play!*:. Rug up in your warmest winter woollies, bring a blankie to sit on and perhaps a thermos of your favourite hot beverage*:.
If anyone has a brazier they’d like to bring down, that’d be great! As we can’t have open fires in the park… The braziers with fire coals are fine. Please remember to dispose of any leftover coals responsibly.
Recently I have made an unspoken rule official: NO FIRE BREATHING AT MOONFEST. Keeping moonfest safe and happy for all.
Please remember that MoonFest is a drug and alcohol free gathering. Take your rubbish with you when you leave. Take responsibility of yourself, your children and have a safe, relaxed happy, warm fuzzy night!*:.

*:.The Nambour Garden Expo is on from 1st ~3rd July (butterflies and tall fairies flitter flutter about the garden, don’t ya know?)
*:.Mountains to Mangroves Sunday 10th July. Chermside (all the way from the Abbey to Chermside… it’s those walking trees again!)
*:.The Einbunpin Festival 31st July Einbunpin Lagoon Sandgate
*:.Dreamscape Festival Sat 24th September. An awesome festy all the way up in Cairns. (Fluffy Monsters to Dream Weavers… and maybe a bit of fire too

Thursday the 21st is the next gathering. I cant wait. im actually going to this one, well hopefully. im going for my P's in the morning so if im there its because i got them, if im not..........well lets not think about that.
i love that idea, having custard in a thermo. im so going to try that when i come up. mmm.......i can taste it now.
hopefully i will see everyone up there. finally.

i managed to swindle friday off work so i can stay late at moonfest...find somewhere to crash in brisvegas...then i can hang about in the big smoke friday & then go out that night!!! ooh maybe i can join that bunch of people intending to visit with gifts...

i forgot about that...sweet!! i think i'll bring some heat beads for those braziers!! they were truly awesome last month but they were also very smokey with all the branches & twigs in there!! (& cos i'll be coming straight from work...i can buy heatbeads tomorrow & just leave them in my car!!)
*wonders how much heat beads are...how big the bags are...where do i get them...are they suitable for braziers or am i imagining things*

Yes they are very suitable for braziers.. but still tend to need a bit of kindling wood to get them started. I brought some from home but a bag would also be great as my kindling supply is getting low! ( I have a woodstove at home...)
You can get them from service stations, supermarkets, hardware stores... barbecue shops... ummm...

I have heaps of those fire starters.. the little white blocks that you can use to get the heat beads going... I'll bring them along so then maybe we can use them instead of the twigs.. would this help?

They would be great, Bec!
They are a wee smelly but that passes soon and they are much better for getting the fire beads booming fast than smoky twigs... bring it on! I will bring a little well seasoned wood kindling as well (it's newish off the tree twigs and stuff that is just lying around that is particularly smoky....). and if anyone else can bring heat beads or good kindling, let us know!
I'll try get there a bit earlier this time to set up my brazier in a nice spot without smoking folks out!

i'll try & run away from work early...i don't like my chances...but i'll give it a shot anyway!!
i should be there around 7.30ish if i don't get off early...so get those fires going & i'll just add my heatbeads when i get there!! (then donate them to the brazier owners!!) *wanders around the house twirling random things...gets funny looks from new housemate*

what time does moonfest usally go to at night? I really want to come down some time soon and meet all you darlings.
I have a barzier if that helps, and plenty of heat beads!!!!!!! I think my trusty kombi will make it that far from the coast Never hold your farts in! They travel up your spine, go into your brain and that's where shitty idea's come from.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, i am getting really really really annoyed at my boss. He just called me up and said that he wants me to work. On my birthday of all days. He said that he would pay double time so i couldnt refuse. So that means i cant come up tonight. I was looking forward to it as well. Next month i will definatly be there!!!

Yeah, come on down!! Heat beads and all! Moonfest usually goes till.. umm.. 10.30?? 11? Well, that's about when I leave and there's usually not many people still there by then. Depends on the weather and the people really. Dress nice and warm *says Mum* cos it's by the beach and you get hot spinning then cool down pretty fast specially if there's a breeeze off the water.... I got sick last time from frolicking and not rugging up right
