I FINALLY DID MY FIRST BURN!
i don't have money for pro equipment and I've only been training for about a year so I normally just tape glowsticks to a stick and play.
However, This last weekend I was staying with a friend who spins. He let me use his equipment and I got to spin a real fire staff for my first time.
It's so very different. The heat, the whoosh sounds, the burns(lol), IT WAS INCREDIBLE! The thrill I got easily beats any skateboarding or anything else i have ever done.
I have a new love in my life, that love is fire staff.

I'm not strange... I'm just not like you.

Thanks,

I just made a ghetto fire staff, I was careful about how I made it and it should be safe.
Can anyone tell what a good piping would be to use for a better staff?
I really want to make it to one of the Portland Firejams sometime, it sounds like a lot of fun.
Anyone else from the NW let me know, theres not a lot of firedancers around here.

IMO, the best way to make a firestaff is to use a hollow aluminium tube with a bit of oak dowel inside each end.

Congrats on your first burn and welcome to the board!

Gherkin would know, he has nice doubles......although they're small wicks, all staffs should have 4 inch wicks.
