ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

I'll second what MiG said.
I have a ute, great for carrying kero smelling kit, that also seats 5 people.

So I should be available for at least some of the time to help people and gear get around.
Just organise things beforehand and it'll be sweet smile

Yeah I don't think they will let me take my kero drum on the plane somehow so it would be good to know how and where to acquire fuel when in Adelaide.

fuel will be provided but it wont be kero (well hopefully not) we will possibly have a large area marked out for spinning to stop random tents accidently burning down etc

i think we are looking at a max of $20 pp for the weekend to cover hire of facilities/fuel/pa hire/wood for bon fire/etc

from the first page guys smile

that would be a lovely offer MIG, and we would offer money of course, but the thing is we have a little baby then and we need a baby capsule for the car so we may have to hire one... will have to do some investigation about wether we can hire one from the airport or something for the weekend... confused confused confused confused

Valura most planes will let you take a capsule and pram on board without being counted as luggage. My friends in the past have anyways. Maybe phone them and ask. Remember to check the people taking you have anchor points or at least the little screwy holes and take a screw and the anchor device with you as well. Some taxis i believe can be hired with capsules too.

For a wee small being they seem to have sooooo much luggage!!
Virgin allows a carseat, pram, cot, high chair and baby parafinalia to count as 5kg of parents checkin luggage no matter how much they weigh!! (just checked that one then)
If you are not a co sleeper like we seem to be, a travel cot is excellent as its somewhere to pop the babe for daytime sleeps at least. Assuming you can pry the baby away from all the willing arms, cots are also good as you can put a mozzie net over them to keep out the bities out and if the baby isnt in there, its a good place to throw everything. biggrin

You can say that the 5 ft long bag is the babies sticks!! Just need to work a way for the wings to be the babies essentials. smile wink biggrin

I can see this thread floating like a cork at the top of this board until October!

Questions:

echoing what someone else already said - Do we need to bring any cooking stuff or is the kitchen already equipped?

Fuel. What Gabe and Ry said - It would be great if this could be a kero-free zone, specially with so much twirling going on night after night. D60's definitely the way. If we print out the MSDS it should be fine to bring some along hopefully, but what are your supplies like there?

As for finding out how many juggling balls etc are needed, I'd say to everyone - bring every toy you have!! biggrin biggrin as much as you can fit anyway

Hey that's a good idea. How about as well as a list of ppl coming, everyone posting what toys they do have and what they're bringing?

And put me down for possibly coming! Probably won't know for about another month. V. excited if I can though ubbrollsmile weavesmiley juggle peace

yay, do come! bounce

Fuel: haven't seen D60 around [or other names it goes by], but that doesn't mean it's not here.. will have to keep looking.

Toys: ubblol just bring them all! the more the merrier, I say!

What fuel do you use Adya?

as to the fuel, kero

I'm probably not the one to ask about sticks and such, though i take short doubles to be pixies.

think you confused me with the second bit.. aren't they the same thing.. hmm.

we went up to the site today and its really beautiful, we have decided to cap the number of people to 200 so that it doesnt strain the resources. we have started looking into organising catering.

we are also going to presell tickets so that we can provide the caterers with more accurate estimates, we will be pre selling tickets up to the 1st of september at $20 pp and after that at $30 pp for the weekend (this is not including food). more details to follow soon.

also we will try and find a local source of d60

sureau short doubles is pixie sticks and long doubles are 2 should lengthish sticks smile

Would it be possible to get an update on how many tickets are remaining, not everyday of course but on a reasonably regular basis? I am not going to know my uni timetable for about a month, and so won't be able to commit until then. But am really eager to go.

And thank you for organising this.
