ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

Hmmm I think the Easterish suggestion is a bit scuppered by Confest... or maybe we could have a Common Ground village there.. Commonfest? HoPfest?

Firetwirling workshops at confest!

It will be easier to score lifts to and from common ground if it's held at confest, NSW!

edit: keeping the festival on the same date and in the same place lends a sense of continuity methinks. That said, I was born to be at confest tho!

here's to making the trek across to Montacute towne every year!

That, and common ground is south australian, i thought. Its our only fire-focussed thing, i reckon, so it'd be nice to keep it here...

sorry guys but I totally agree with MIG. confest is already its own festival and common ground had a sweet and lovely energy of its own.
I can honestly say that I wouldnt come if common ground was tacked on the coat tails of confest becasue it would take away that special 'something' that common ground had.
Plus I really like south australia. smile

i think it should stay here. It gets everyone to come here for once, seeing we're all leaving the state for every other event/festival.

yeah even though i didnt go, i think from the sounds of it it would not have the same vibe that was created if it was just added to another festival.
yeah there are lovely people that go to confest... but they arent all US...
i want to be able to experience the real commonground...

that is all

I like the idea of the three days. For the first one it gave us a chance to meet each other and get to play. I would have liked to stay and keep hugging ppl. Lots of lovely energy.
The play in the long grass looked lush too.
More henna then too wink
