ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

yeah the goin to the supermarket and stoking up sounds good...then splitting a taxi sounds GREAT
the thing is that arsn and taj and I CANT go with dentrassi becasue Taj needs a carseat in a private car in adelaide... he doesnt have to be in one in a taxi.

Hi everyone!

Just heard that the jetbus goes straight to Paradise Internchange (after a high speed trip down our world famous (?) Busway after going to the city. The best thing for anyone to do is to catch the Jetbus to Paradise Interchange (check this upon Boarding, but i'm fairly certain that both Jet busses stop at Paradise) and then catch the 178 from Paradise to Coles Newton, on Montacute Road.

This is very very easy and cheap, and also you dont have to walk more than about 50 metres to change buses. Much easier than doing the same thing in town - and I reckon it will be quicker too!

Can someone please confirm that this plan works by surfing the adelaide metro website? the only concern is the changeover from the jetbus to the 178 - hopefully they both run regularly enough.

seeya all soon!

Josh

P.s. The performance thing on Sat night, is it more a…
(a) Communal, put something together and perform it kinda thing.
(b) Come with a prepared act to show everyone kinda thing?
(c) Make something up on the spot kinda thing.
(d) The always popular setting your pants on fire, running round in circles squawking like a pigeon, kinda thing?
OR
(e) A little from collum (a), (b), (c)…but preferably not (d) unless you have received prior permission from the Flaming Pigeons Association to accurately represent them in times of crisis / very-not-cold plumage shedding…kinda thing.

Yeah the plan is to go for an ABish sort of show although there is always an element of CDishness that creeps in to these things. Oh well, the show must go on!

Just to make the setting a bit clearer, we will be putting this on for the local village folk, who have been very kind in giving us land and extra hay. The rough plan is to have a bit of a showcase thing going (the Bish part), with different set acts and whatnot leading up to a really big finish that will involve everyone we can muster. This would be the A part and will need the most working out. Josh and Ben said prep for this will take place Sat afternoon.
We are hoping to have a crew of drummers and jingalers to make a live soundtrack, maybe it would be an idea to used canned music for the end so they can light up too if they want?

So who would like to do something in the showcase bit? All welcome! Anything you would like to show? Expose? Reveal? Roll up! If you could let me know what you would like to do and roughly how long it goes for that would be great, so we can start to figure out a running order. You can PM, and from tommorrow I'll be on site and off HoP so you could just come let me know then.
Looking forwards to meeting / catching up with y'all!! grouphug

can i just rely on bringing me mini-DV tapes and your goodwill/faith in taking care of your babey?
it'll be great for uber technical workshop moments... it'll be great for exhausted people who reach mental overload and will need to rely on footage after C.G. to retain what was taught.

and that's just the cooking.
