ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

Hire a room at a place nearby just to shower in?

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

There is toilets, i know for sure, as there was a duscussion about it between Ben and Josh. As for showers, you'll have to ask Josh.

No showers are no problem. I'm sure there's a shower block within driving distance. Also, if you've done a UK fest you'll know that with the aid of wet wipes you can dry shower for several days in a muddy field before the itch gets too bad and the fleas move in!

On another note:
Any chance of a location map or directions so those of us from interstate know where this shindigs at?

Now we can get that far at least. I assume that there will be some sort of sign on the road for where we turn off?

Perth crew are currently in the process of sorting out a hire car so that's why I've been asking. We have Geo, Juggler and me as definates at the mo and Littlewing, Gnor and Mojojo as possibles.

I've got my plain ticket already so I'm in for sure! biggrin

Same with the chewing gum stuff that can soak up oil from an oil spill. It was on beyond2000 many years ago. It was meant to cost like $1000 a kilo to make, but a kilo could soak up thousands of litres of oil. But you could just squeeze the oil back out. No loss of oil.

Dear all.

My boss say's that she has no problem with a mutually agreed early end to my contract on the 9th of September.... ubbrollsmile

I'm trying to get to Adelaide to surprise my mate for his 30th birthday on the 10th of September.... bounce

What's Adelaide like? Would there be stuff to do for 20 days while everyone else is getting on with their lives?

because of the international date line it is impossible for you to leave work on the 9th and surprise your friend in Oz on the 10th. smile You will arrive on the 11th.

Depends on what your into DSS, but i reckon if you are into the outback, camping, deserted white beaches, getting a really long waay away from anyone and stuff like that, you will love SA. Even around adelaide there is a fair bit of cool walking and stuff you can do. Most things in SA either require a car, or booking of a tour - but there is a lot of cool things to do if can you manage these things. Also 2nd hand cars tend to be cheaper here too than in the Eastern states, because SA has more relaxed roadworthy laws :P

If you like, I'm sure we can arrange for a camping holiday in someplace deserted and scenic or something similar one of the w/ends youre here.

Yea that stuff sounds cool, I've been living in the city too long now. Problem with surprising my mate is not being able to ask him Adelaide advice... hehe

I'm pretty much definitely coming now. Just gotta book flights... Haven't juggling of spun anything in ages, so I'll be able to get plenty of that in by the time common ground arrives, hopefully... juggle

Well if you think about it... the lack of funds would be less than the cost of repairing the boat. If you don't open, then afterwards explain your decision i'm sure he'd appreciate your consideration.
