ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

Okay, I've had quite a look into badges.

and there are some great ideas around, but obviously, we're going for something good but relatively cheap.

Matt, sounds cool, but I think pin-on badges are the way to go: they stay put, are not easily lost, are cheap to make [using my various sources.. muahaha wink]

Medusa: definately. I've just designed some. I think it's best to go with standard BAM [badge-a minit - brand], which are round, plus I have access to a few machines and things here in Adelaide.
I'm also putting everyone's Avatars on the badges, to make things more exciting! [so Pete, hurry up and find one!:D]

cost? should be under a dollar, most likely covered under the money chipped in for the weekend, i'll find out more.

This means I'll need everyone to send me exactly what they want to have on their badge so that there are no mistakes in spelling, preferences, etc.

Real Name:
Hop Name:
Background colour preference:

Avatars are pretty much the right size and everything as they are, unless you'd like to send a better quality, though keep in mind they have to be relatively small.

here's a little preview

Getting everyone's details and preferences in advance ensures for better organisation, which makes everything run smoothly, which applies to everything really smile

either PM or email is cool [louise.myers-at-gmail-dot-com]

which means I guess I've dobbed myself in for the badges ubblol

there we go! sorry, meant to do that before. smile

like that of a manastic existence, punctuated by ritual (foodcrap tuesdays) and tradition (fingerless gloves)
what time slot do we have left for hobo workshops?

I love the badge idea! Top work whoeva thought of that. clap

Can the background for mine be orange please (if we're still able to request).

How is everyone getting to the camp ground? I'm gonna be getting into Adelaide on the Thursday arvo from Perth and obviously won't have a car to get up there in. Can someone give me a lift? Also, I won't be flying out until Tuesday arvo so am not fussed if I return to Adelaide on the Monday or Tuesday. Can anyone help?! confused

I might be giving lifts to and from the airport/train station. however, i only have a fairly small car, so 2 other people (3 if they're really small) and toys (esp staffs) etc is probably about the limit. I can fold my back seat down, so thats why i can only fit 2 others if staves are coming. that said, if there's three people and a staff, i'm sure i can work stuff out.

Petrol donations would be nice, but aren't strictly necessary - Im a student, adn i know a fair lot of you out there are too :P . Also, would people try and sort it out so that there's more than one person there to get a lift? it'd suck making 5 trips to the airport for 5 people.

And i like my badge how it is, as long as the avatar turns out well smile

I just had an idea between my last message and this one. As there will be a few Perth people going it may be worth us getting a hire car to get our Perth butts around while we're in Adelaide.

I'll post something on the Perth Fire message board and see what the rest of the crew thinks. Thanks heaps for your offer tho. We'll keep it in mind if the hire car idea is a no-goer.

the site is only 5 minutes drive from a bus stop. its really easy to get from the airport into town, and from town to the 5 minutes away bus stop - so I dont know if you need a hire car! smile

is everyone on the egroup yet?

Out of curiosity, as it’s not at a proper campground, is there toilets and showers? Or are we doing the stinky hobo thing for real?!
