ok well its confirmed.

IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.

We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.

I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...

so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!

and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

Theres always clashes especially in summer. This Common ground will be smaller than the October one. The October one is the main one which incidentally will be on the second weekend of October 2006. biggrin *fingers crossed*

Well we are looking at weekend of the 14th of January.

It will more than likely be held in a recreation/caravan park closeish to Adelaide and a 10 minute walk from the beach, pool, volley ball net and kiddy play equipment wink. With a bush walk in a conservation area next door.

These are still ideas, just floating them to see what ppl are doing.

It will go ahead anyway but it might just be the Adelaide crew there if no one from interstate is up for summer fun. I know summer is an expensive time. smile

pick me, pick me bounce2

i'm coming down to adelaide to work at the fringe and i was going to arrive around the 20th of jan, but that has just been revised to the 4th jan. i will probably only be able to go on the weekend, but seing as though i know almost no-one in adelaide it sounds like a fine thing to do for a weekend!

guess i'd better start seriouly practicing poi so i'm not embarassed...perhaps i could ask the spunky shirtless french boys spinning in the backyard for some tips wink

well seeing the spunky shirtless French boys are Stef and Jay, the hottest spinners I ever saw (and not just cos it's Brissy in the summer...) that's probably a good plan, Tilly!
You SAians will be fortunate to have Miss Moo at your beachside campout, her laugh is enough to bring the tide in!

So peoples,

I'm looking for approximate numbers now. I need to make a booking for that time. I think you are looking at about $6-$10 a night and then you will need to provide your own food etc..

A few other details, but as I said b4 just throwing around ideas. And seeing whose up for it??

Takers?

preparations are beginning for this years common ground (most likely be the same long weekend in october) the local community was really pleased with last years event, at the meeting following the issue of insurance was brought up, so we have to sort out insurance before we can rebook the venue this year.
