OK- not sure if this has been posted before, but here is a link I found on a site I was linked through to for some other silly video. Its quite possibly the most impressive juggling vid I've seen purely fopr the accuracy this guy is getting at the speed he ends up at. I dunno- I don't bounce juggle and only slightly toss juggle, but it seems mighty clever to me.

PIANOBALLS

Hope you enjoy- sorry if a cross post has occurred.

He was also on Steve Harvey's Big Time television show.
I recall seeing alot of this after the release of the Tom Hanks "Big" movie.

I think the most impressive display of bounce juggling belongs to Michael Mosen (sp??). He has a triangle and he stretches wide sheets of pvc around it. When he bounces the balls in it they ricochet and they make this cool noise at the same time. Most impressive. Saw it *years* ago but I don't remember where.

Cheers for bringing attention to some awesome talent!

Well, various people have incorporated music and juggling before, but I think I that this particular video is partly an illusion. It was a while ago that I talked to a juggler about this, but I think it was in reference to this video. I believe it is some sort of rubber type mat that is sensitive to stuff hitting it (like a drum pad) and has a pre-programmed sequence of notes to cycle through as it gets hit consecutive times. So I don't think he's actually hitting particular keys.

As for Moschen, see if you can grab the video In Motion With Michael Moschen, which was part of a series on performers that PBS did. I think some online shops like Dube carry it, and it is really good. Shows him with the triangle, club swinging, contact juggling, hoop manipulation, his home life, and a bunch of other stuff.

Cheers,

Shawn

Shawn: To be perfectly honest... that point you raised was EXACTLY what I was thinking.
I was trying to determine if the tone of the note has a direct corellation to the places he threw the balls.

The best music/juggling group is the Flying Karamazov Brothers. They're crazy! I should try to find a link for that...

I like the juggling duo Two for music juggling.

The fast stuff is pre-programmed, the slow stuff usually is not. But it still takes a talent to set it off and it is still a really cool thing to see.
I didn't watch the video here, I know the act. I have known people who do it.

Thanks Shawn for the video suggestion, and btw, nice to see you around. Been a loooong time. wink

"I saw this guy on PBS in a triangle... way cool. Who is he?
That was Steve Mills. The technical name for those wooden triangle things is a "Mess"."

Not Mr Motion?

umm

Or is that the entire point?
