Ok as Vanize keeps posting about it in the other Clapham thread....

I know it's short notice. But who can make it to see the lovely Vanize?

3pm onwards, by the bandstand? smile

Right, so what time?

And THIS time, should anyone be intimidated and awed by my very presence to the point of being afraid to come up to me and introduce yourself...

DON'T BE.

Really, I'm neither awesome, nor intimidating, nor am I a legend. I'm quite simple, rather goofy, and more of a quirky anecdote.

Well, yes. But I guess that analogy would also work ok. Especially if you want 'scenes of mild peril and innuendo'!

This is a bit offtopic but in the other Clapham thread a few people were trying to figure out how often there should be Clapham meets. Most london based folks seem to want to meet every 2 weeks, most non-london based peeps want 1 a month.

I think every 2 weeks would suit most people, so london peeps have something to do on Sundays and don't get bored waiting ages for the next meet, plus outside-londoners could come once a month but have a choice of 2 dates. Any more ideas? Who else is coming this week?

[Old link] has traditionally been a weekly meet for anyone bothered to turn up.

if people were thinking that claphma pitp should only be held bi-weekly, it would be really good to have a north london alternative that runs on the other weeks.
not that we haven't been thinking this for the last year or so but has anyone got any good ideas of where a north/east london fire meet could occur?

best idea so far has been wanstead but its quite far out...

It sounds great - I take it you keep doing this right throughout summer then?

If my very special sunday-birthday visitor approves of this, then I may be coming along with some chums if it's nice and sunny.... along with picnic blankets, twiglets, cider, cheese rolls, fire toys, little cheese and pineapple chunks on cocktail sticks, little slices of birthday cake

..and stuff.

etc.

We may even 'go wild' with some crisps and peanuts too.

I'll not get tooooo excited just yet, she'll probably insist we must do something else instead.. but I think this sounds great way to spend the afternoon.. *and*.... .... her boyfriend is a poi-boy so I think he might be keen on this too biggrin

I may or may not turn up, depending on the state of my finances and if I can afford a ticket into London. Hopefully I'll be there smile

um... there might be some people coming to film spinners for a dissertation project, I replied to Nates thread about 'urgent, spinners in south-east wanted'. Don't know if they'll show up or not, just thought I'd let them know there will be some people doing poi in Clapham this Sunday. The more the merrier, and all that. Hope nobody minds. smile

THE CANNABIS FESTIVAL is the same day! Please all come to London!

see www.thecannabisfestival.co.uk

We can go on the march, and then meet at Clapham for a spin after! Howard Marx will be speaking, it's all about educating people about cannabis, it's many uses and the social effects of prohibition. biggrin

Lambeth Council refused to process the licensing applications for the march this year (despite petitioning), so now they've got clearance from Scotland Yard to march from Russell Square to Leicester Square in central instead.

I'm going for most of the day, so I probably won't get to Clapham til around 7pm. biggrin

peace
