Hi there!

The poi lessons on hop are great. Really. ubblove
but I'm through, and of cause I'd like to learn more moves. It's quite tricky to understand (even if you have a look over "words and definitions") to understand what complex things you are doing.

So, knows anyone a webpage, where there are advanced tricks explained with vids, for example like the mcp-page for staff?

it's been uploadin for over 2 hours and i've been in the pub but it's nearly there, just under half a gigabyte of vids smile but you might have trouble finding them if the gallery doesn't work.

Wait... so are these up on Sherculism? I just joined and saw a video section of the forums, but I get the feeling that isn't the same as the tutorials? And I can't see a gallery anywhere?

Shawn

Edit: Oops! I see it now. Looks like a ton of videos in that gallery. Thanks for uploading them. smile

I found a great tutorial vid for airwraps, I thought it was on domorepoi, but it's not there. Was that somewhere else, or did they take it off? Or is it still there and I'm just being stupid?

There is a thread on flowers. Does anyone know a vid about that?
Not that I could do that now, but it's hard for me to imagine a move with only a description and I really would like to have a look at them.

hello,

you found us already...
we would like to internationalize our homepage soon, then all tricks (more than 800 videos of poi, staff, acrobatics, juggling, swinging, jojo etc.) will be translated in english.

this is lots of work, so we will need help in translating or describing all the moves in english....

bye SAM

The question is to us, is it necessary that someone really translates the german to english?
isn`t it enough, if someone who knows about pois/stuff describes the moves in english? i guess here are more than enough experienced players who speak perfect english. i would say thats enough.
if someone fells like describing the moves or parts of it, connect me or gerald of this forum, he is the guy who does most of the moves and organizes the staff and poi category of our workshops.

I think the problem is not someone translating, but someone speaking German - as I've looked around there are not so much people of that kind around. Spinning seems to be much more popular in Great Britain than on the Continent.

@Sam: Maybe someone should describe the moves also in the German version? And add a name (to the club swinging moves)?

Till now I haven't found another page with club vids, so I don't know the correct terms either.

I really like your page, but I think it's pity that you can't download the vids. It's easy to understand why not, but I don't practise spinning inside the university cip pool ;-)

@vanilla: yes you are right, the club swinging will be described as soon as that guy has time...
also all the staff moves need to be described in german and english....

@ all: but the navigation of tthe tutorials and the very first poi tricks are also in english since now, we put the english in blue.

so now everybody really can describe the moves in english. it is such a lot, we cant all do it alone, as its more than 800 moves and tricks together and should grow even more. in our small forum, we have a thread there it can get organised, so no one describes the same...

good night, SAM

@malcom: we love your site, many of us are active (or passiv...) since a long time here. we linked HOP as its the very best page to get information to poi, staff and muchmore ever! our aim is trying to connect the different scenes (juggling, mimes, ballons, unicycling, poi, acrobatics etc.) and share our knowledge.

Many greetings SAM
