I'm not sure about manchester, try a google for manc poi-pushers.
Alternatively, this lot (HoP) are pretty good.. I find that getting them to fly my stuff all the way from new zealand is actually loads cheaper than going two stops on the tube to pick it up from Camden

could i suggest the gatherings and events section, where there is an entire thread for the sole purpose of mancs peeps meeting up and spinning... also you should try the meet others section.

Robzilla make yourself a pair of sock poi to practice with. This involves getting a longish pair of socks.... like the under the knee sports socks.... you put either a tennis ball in each sock or something soft and heavier if you like a bit of weight... like lentils or dried beens. Tie a know in the top of the socks for handles and away to go! you have practise poi.
