And so, announcing the worst kept secret in history.

Uberpoi will almost certainly be held on the weekend of the 16th of July.

Teachers will be confirmed in the next few weeks. but don't you worry, they're going to be DAMN good.

price will be £45.
why the increase you ask?

because the uberstaff teachers were paid a very small amount, certainly not enough for the time they put in. and we would like to pay people a reasonable amount for their work. £45 is still very cheap when compared to most weekends of this type (approx £40 per day is the usual rate).

Accomodation will be fun to sort out, but i'm going to try to find a cheap location for all.

i am away in bristol for the next week, so will not keep you up to date until after i get back.

*invites excitement*

wink

much love

If you drink something like 30 pints you may be over 78 kg. Not sure if it's a good plan though.

Maybe you can excessively drink water.

Wow! My guess of 30 pints to get you to 78 kg was quite accurate. I'm impressed with myself.

I just HAVE to tell you cos you'll appreciate this. I have NEVER in my life spun socks cos I started with ribbon poi and then to glowies and fire and I just didn't 'get' socks though it looked cool when Garthy and Dom and Bam and Steve and such people did it. Tonight I took some out with me when I went dance to an African band and went outside to cool off and felt all loose and happy and had a play in the park outside and GUESS WHAT!!! I did some sort of airwrappy thing that I wouldn't have a clue what it's called and it's probably a weed not a flower and a perversion not an inversion BUT it wrapped itself up and unwrapped itself and i could do it both sides and it was FUN!@!!!!!!OI#*$&*#(Q#

Would you? If it's not too much bother. In fact would you mind trashing one of my flatmates rooms instead? I feel it has to be done, for the sake of form you know, but would rather not personally have to deal with the mess smile

hello all,

thank you for making my first time in scotland a memorable one (with two more days to go, at that).

thank you for putting up with me, thank you for putting me up (to those with whom I slept), thank you for humoring me, thank you for playing along, thanks for accepting me picking you up and spinning you about, thanks to rob mc for the lovely greek salad sandwiches and safety duty, thanks to monster mash for the haggis, thanks to all the drunk scots who staggered around in the middle of the night in pairs with arms around each others' necks, loads of thanks to all the teachers - I learned heaps this weekend, subsequent loads of thanks to everybody who wasn't technically a teacher, but taught me something nonetheless (poi or otherwise), super big loads of thanks to rob for making it happen, and special load of thanks to all those whose nipples accepted tiger balm.

Hello hello hello!

Big thanks to everyone for organising, teaching, attending, giving out tiger balm etc etc etc!!

Can anyone tell me how to make movie files smaller? My camera gives out .mov-files. I have nice movies of the teachers' battle, Nick and some more battle ones, and I'd like to put them up, but 32 MB for the battle one for example sounds a bit too much.

For now, some pictures and the teachers' battle are on https://home.arcor.de/bikaga/Ueberpoi

I'll reduce the picture size and name them when I get to it, anyone with broadband can look at them now smile

Has anyone seen a mind recently? Possibly in many little pieces? I do ultimately need it back at some point. I understand that it will probably never be quite the same as it was before Uberpoi, but it's tough to accompish basic daily brushing-your-teeth kind of things without one...

So much energy, so many ideas, such inspriation and awesomeness shareed all weekend. I couldn't thank anyone individually enough, but to those who gave the workshops and organised and prepped it your karma must be doing kartwheels wearing almost as big silly grins as we are! You all did a wonderful job and have helped everyone enourmously.

grouphug to everyone there, my nipples may burn but the smile just won't leave my mouth biggrin
