And so, announcing the worst kept secret in history.

Uberpoi will almost certainly be held on the weekend of the 16th of July.

Teachers will be confirmed in the next few weeks. but don't you worry, they're going to be DAMN good.

price will be £45.
why the increase you ask?

because the uberstaff teachers were paid a very small amount, certainly not enough for the time they put in. and we would like to pay people a reasonable amount for their work. £45 is still very cheap when compared to most weekends of this type (approx £40 per day is the usual rate).

Accomodation will be fun to sort out, but i'm going to try to find a cheap location for all.

i am away in bristol for the next week, so will not keep you up to date until after i get back.

*invites excitement*

wink

much love

wwelll I'M -most- excited cause i've never had such a _large_ pool of tech- skilled spinners to teach. (and learn from biggrin) I feel some anxiety coming on, i've got so much amazing stuff to show you guys i'm brimming. don't get me wrong i love teaching beginners, i just... done lots of that. but i have a feeling i can really get down to bid-ness with some brits in my hands... dance stuff that made me fall in love with chains more than any trick ever did.

well... bfly knots are pretty fun too biggrin

just don't get me talking with words like "rubbish" and "pants" and "iznit" or the texas gals will make fun of me...

And seriously.
what's with the reptile people thing? Is that for real? eek
who's going to protect me while i'm there? wink

i'm struggling here guys... such a dilemma...

the thing is, there's a tai chi & chi gung retreat i'd like to do during the summer too

and it's a case of either or

retreat:
1 week in a french village in hills above Carcassonne, Cathar country, full of castles, close to Rennes le Chateau and other ancient mysterious places mentioned in "The Holy Blood & The Holy Grail". training will take place outdoors beside a small lake, in a beech glade, with a small stream running past, full of small frogs, dragonflies and the constant sound of birdsong. we will also have a vegetarian chef from the Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Scotland for the entire week...

uberpoi:
back to edinburgh for the 3rd time this year for extended weekend of mischief & madness. full of castles, also close to the famous Rosslyn Chapel & other ancient mysterious places mentioned in "The Holy Blood & the Holy Grail". workshop will take place in (i'm assuming) the lovely Delmany street drill hall, full of beautiful talented people and the constant sound of poi whizzing through the air. the delightful rob with his delicious ubercafe...

hmmm.... it's a close call

well. it'd be criminal for me to fly all that way and not stay for a bit and stick my thumb out to see where it takes me.

but i'm having a hard time finding tickets cheap enough for me to have some $$ left over after the ticket. esp. with the dollar so weak. IOW- i eat a lot for a skinny guy and i'll have no money left for food [or tequila. wink] frown seriously though it looks like at this point i'm going to have to fly right back home. falmouth is the next weekend, right, is it near london? but i still don't even know where i'm flying in from- i might be in berlin sleeping on the train waiting to fly out. i simply don't know anything yet, until i know where i'm coming in. but rest assured i'll let you know- i'm trying to get my ticket a.s.a.p... i'm getting together with a travel agent friend tomorrow.
anybody know a good deal on international flights?

and if i'm driving down to falmouth then there'll be a space for ya... and hopefully for a queen and an NYC too tongue

yes, falmouth is near london(;), shhhhhh) well, compared to edinburgh anyway, and i'm sure we could arrange a lift back for ya.

i might even feed you while you're in edinburgh... smile

and, i beleive we have a tequila testing to happen(remember?)

Let it be known that we of the North are slack and may change our minds at the drop of a stick with anything that involves crossing borders. Like going to Englandshire that is.
So don't bet on pookage at Falmouth or you might be disappointed.
Unless you've already been to UBERpoi.

biggrin

anyway I Know doop was only thinking about attending Both events. He is a wise man hug

Aww I'd've definitely come to Uberpoi but what with it being the same weekend as the Glade festival there's no way I'll be there. But I do want to hassle, err I mean meet, Arashi ubblol

mad ubbcrying

uber poi doesn't mean only for experts.

uber in this case means the amount of poi and knowledge in the same place. please don't feel that this is an elite thing frown its for everybody.

(ps am having bad day so please no offence intended frown )
