And so, announcing the worst kept secret in history.

Uberpoi will almost certainly be held on the weekend of the 16th of July.

Teachers will be confirmed in the next few weeks. but don't you worry, they're going to be DAMN good.

price will be £45.
why the increase you ask?

because the uberstaff teachers were paid a very small amount, certainly not enough for the time they put in. and we would like to pay people a reasonable amount for their work. £45 is still very cheap when compared to most weekends of this type (approx £40 per day is the usual rate).

Accomodation will be fun to sort out, but i'm going to try to find a cheap location for all.

i am away in bristol for the next week, so will not keep you up to date until after i get back.

*invites excitement*

wink

much love

Hi guys...this is not really, Nick, it is Andrea, using his codes... sneaky hey...

While N just lost his mind at Uberpoi, I obviously did not have one to start with... Oops. While there I managed to lose something else very important to me!

It is a little plastic container of beaded silver necklacesand some other stuff~( including my favorite ring!) I had brought it to show someone, and then sell to get enough funds to survive to the end of the trip... I lost it somehow on Saturday, probably just before the UberBATTLE ???

~If any one found it, I would be overjoyed to provide you with my undying gratitude, welcome you to home in beautiful SaltSpring Island, create a custom jewellery design of your choice, offer you tigerbalm for your nipples...??? or ?
whatever you desire...

I am so hoping it gets found, I simply can not afford to lose so much! And it is my art, so it is sad to lose it this way. I may be getting very thin my last few weeks here...If you saw it or have it, email nick. or find me at falmouth, or email me at rowanlee@fastmail.ca, or tell Rob...

Other than this mishap, things have been extraordinarily brilliant. thanks for a fabulous time... I loved meeting eveyone, and learned so much.

see you at Falmouth!
smiles,
andrea hug ubblove

Nick that was truely inspiring stuff, I'll be breaking as many locks as possible til we bump into each other again!
Drew, cheers for the movementdanciness
Nice one to everyone who shared this deadlyness grouphug
To that lovely girl whoes name I cannot remember (ooooops), who gave me a set of flaming poi and a red hat, I have a terrible confession to make, not only did I forget to give you back your hat at the end of the night...but I lost it on the bus, I'm so sorry! I'll try and find a hat for you for the next uberness!
I also managed to lose my fire poi somewhere along the line....if anyone finds them please give me a shout and mind them til we can be reunited ( 4inch wicks with too long ball chain and no handles).
I never got a chance to get one of those uber teeshirts, any xlarge ones left rob?
And a renegade to finish it off, funkilicious...cheers to whoever's flat that was, if you find a shoe in the rubble it might be mine smile, what a silly idea to leave so soon after uberness biggrin
Don't worry bonzai, not your flat, thank you so much for letting us stay, and cheers to your flatmates for everything.
Oh and cheers to everyone I forgot to say cheers to.
Nice one,
see ye all soon (EJC anyone?)

Couple of things...

Firstly as everyone has already said: Huge big thank you to Rob and all those involved in organising the weekend and teaching workshops, it was amazing. Despite not being able to spin I watched and I think I've learnt some things to try when i can spin again. It was great to see so many talented spinners in one place.

Secondly huge big thank you to our wonderful house guests. 2bags for trying to kill me with my own crutches, garth for having dinner on the table when I got in on friday, mand for teaching me how to make flags, and nate for shouting at me, hitting me and generally abusing me in to the early hours of tuesday morning in an attempt to teach me moves.

and finally it was great to put some faces and talent to the names.

grouphug

Ronan, I believe you are probably referring to Kit's red hat. I will break it to her gently that you lost it in case she hasn't read this yet.

Andrea, i really hope your stuff turns up. hug

One day i'll learn to resist gravity...

Thank you Rob, for organising such an incredible, inspiring, mind expanding weekend.

Thank you Cole and Nick, for demonstrating so elegantly why I should have been drilling my planes, and thank you Drew, for yelling at us for not having done so already. I'm off to learn poi again, from scratch, properly this time... wink

Thank you Birgit, and indeed Sunbird, for your gracious hospitaltity, and not showing the slightest bit of concern at the frightening mess of stuff that I spread all over your living room. biggrin I promise to visit again soon, and try to be tidier!

Thanks everyone for making uberpoi so utterly amazing.

Had a great week.

Wicked to meet up with old friends and even nicer to meet so many new ones...

Some of the highlights for me:

Late night tequila workshop

Firepoise shaking her stuff

Ronin spinning gorgeous patterns

Even (sp?) with his badass diabolo style

Arashi's atomics, i finally get it

Dan for being so Dan

Battle was hilarious, i've got great footage of the whole lot

Coleman's battling style (esp. that face-off with bluecat)

Wibbling circle, or sphercle i guess. I'd been wanting to do that for years (spread the love guys and we'll have a huge wibbling sphercle some time)

The whole irish crew keeping me constantly amused

Paperspinning, thanks to alphalight and Andy House wink

Swing dance wibbling

........

The list goes on and on but i've had a really shittty day back at work so i'm off home.

Thanks Rob for having me stay and organising everything, so i hear uberpoi 2 is on Andrea's island wink

Gutted i missed andy's and nick's workshops, guess that means we'll just have to meet up again soon.

Big love to everyone,

matt
