practising palm isolations: move the ball around your open hand really slowly and as smoothly as possible. Once you can do this a bit more easily, start trying to move your hand around the ball to keep it still.

fair enough description? ubbangel

Ah, one ball palm spinning.

More difficult than it looks. How were you taught it (If you don't mind giving away the secret)?

It took me a couple of months i think to learn this properly. I've tried teaching other people but it's a difficult one to get the head around.

There are essentially four basic ways of doing it; Thumb to pinky, Pinky to thumb, on the left or right hand. The one that feels most natural to me is left hand, thumb/pinky. Weird, seeing as I'm right-handed and broke a finger on my left hand a few years ago, which made my left ring finger stop growing while all the rest did... But everyone is different.

I have given Pyrowill a challenge. To perfect palmspinning a pyramid (three balls as a base with one sitting on top) on both hands before I do. Any direction, but I think the same direction would be good in both hands. I'm going thumb to pinky, obviously. I can do it no problem in my left hand, but my right hand seems incapable of spinning any number of balls as good as my left hand does.

Bearing in mind I'm going on holiday tomorrow and probably won't be doing any contact for a couple of weeks, he should be able to get it. Any one else up for the challenge? (in a friendly, non-competitive way of course)

a chubb chubb is a tiny creature, about the size of a hampster! Every1 is afraid of them, cos they have an appetite second-to-none, and will eat an army of people/anything in under 5mins!

you need to see the video to understand!

Myallo Ya'll,
I was just wondering if you guys and gals over in england ever get any of the chinese circus footage from new years?
Also, Mondot, heard of him? Very cool french three ball artist (ponders if he's on this forum)
The chinese circus have been doing amazing contact stuff for years (Note, Spinning fork, Bowl kicking, Three ball juggling)
But yeah, if ya get a chance, fork spinning is like contact staff to the extreme PLUS acrobatics, check it out biggrin
Sorry if this is all old news, I'm a bit new to the forum :S
Anywho, tis all
Oh, PS, The chinese have FINALLY started juggling clubs biggrin No more hollow tennis rachets for them :P
Ciao-sies!

I like to think this thread is non descriminatory when it comes to ball numbers ^_^

I personally would love to hear some multiball moves. my third 70mm acryllic is in the mail from melbourne

I've just started to get the hang of three balls in both hands, and managed to get a pyramid going in both hands with billiard balls while on holiday... so multiball ball stuff is most welcomed!!

I'm having trouble getting a nice looking palm spin shower going. The balls just seem to move at irregular timings and keep knocking into one another... Any tips? Gelfling? Drew? Anyone? The problem seems to be when the balls are rolling ovr the near side of my palm, and also the 'thumb bit' where I put the balls from fingers to palm and vice versa. Hope that makes sense...

Top tip for any palm spinning stuff - once you get a move learn it without using your thumb. This will build up your dexterity and finger strength.

We'll spend time in Falmouth smile

Will post multiball descriptions when I can work out how to phrase them wink

Still practising...

Was practising on my way home on the ferry tonight.

Unfortunately there was about 200 schoolkids also on the boat, clearly on their way home from a day trip. They kept saying things like 'you trying to see your future in that ball, miss'?!

I got all embarrassed and stopped.

frown Kids can be so cruel.

heheh!!

When kids do that to me, I tell them that the ball has a different type of magic, and show them some moves that make the ball look as if it's levitating.

Never fails. They soon stop taking the piss.

I'm trying to nail this move at the moment, and wondered where I'm going wrong. Can you give me a break down and any tips?

erm... can butterfly, basic forearm rolls, enigmas coming on, getting closer to palm isolations in the right hand, left hand still sucks, and I can do very sketchy chest rolls. I'm starting to get stalls, but still a loooooong way to go... oh yeah and the classic 'falling up' trick that non jugglers seem to love so much!

Okay some multi-ball...

Three Ball Stack (not sure what this move is really called)

1] Hold one ball in the palm with the palm face down.
2] On this hand balance a second ball on the back of said hand.
3] With the other hand have the third ball on the back of the hand with the palm directly over the second ball.
4] Butterfly the third ball and return the hand underneath the first ball.
5] Allow the first ball to sit on the second hand.
6] So now the second ball is where the third was, the third is where the first was and the first is where the second was only in different hands.

Try it in reverse...
Try it with four balls...
Try it with five...

This transfer is not the most impressive at first but once you master it with four balls it allows you use the vertical plain to a much greater extent - much more to multi-ball than palm spinning wink

I can do that with three balls, But wouldn't it look a bit pants with four or five balls?

I don't know, as I've never even tried, can't work out how it would work... You'll have to show me some stuff at foul mouth, dude...
