I know this is kinda going to clash with the Falmouth 4 plans but what the hell.

Missed out on Glastonbury tickets - then come to Bristol's own version of the event.

https://www.ashtoncourtfestival.com/

If you're not familiar with the festival, it's Bristol's best kept secret - a fantastic outdoor festival held every summer featuring.....

Two outdoor stages featuring the best of local bands with national headliners to finish.

The Even Bigger Top featuring souly, funky, hip-hop, jazzy bands.

The Global marquee featuring a unique mix of modern and traditional music from around the world.

A Performing Arts marquee featuring dance, poetry, comedy and theatre.

The Acoustic marquee.

A large kid's area.

"Blackout", a marquee featuring experimental film and music

Plus over 150 stalls selling foods and crafts from around the world, two Event bars and fairground rides.

The entertainment runs from midday to 11pm on both days.

I'll be there even though it means missing uni. It normally costs a fiver to get in on both days and is well worth it.

*****UPDATE*******

HEADLINERS CONFIRMED:

Super Furry Animals, Lemon Jelly, Zion Train, Roni Size, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel

So who else is interested?

I might be able to go, my parents live about half hour from Bristol so I could visit them, borrow my mum's car and drive over.

i'm up for going, tentatively, but, regardless, I have a suggestion (and it doesn't involve commas):

when the festival closes hundreds of ppl tramp back across the suspension bridge - does anyone want to busk late-ish on the festival nights?

45 mins sounds about right - but it is a nice walk along the river Avon. Or you could walk to the harbour and get a taxi boat to the Nova Scotia pub and follow the other festival goers from there. Will see you there bounce

i think i shall walk to Colston hall and maybe get the bus:

By Bus

Our special festival bus service will be picking up from, and returning to:

- the Colston Hall,

- at the bottom of Blackboy Hill and

- opposite the old ABC cinema, Whiteladies Road

This year the buses will drop you off right next to the festival entrance, so you won't have that long walk up the hill. Buses will run from 11am to midnight, with £2 flat fare, £1 for kids.

If anyone is coming who would like my assistance in getting there and home, give us a shout and we'll do our best to meet up somewhere easy before heading into the gates.

Skully - we could meet at Temple Meads if you like and go up together?
