I'm having a problem getting my head around isolations. I know what they are and how your meant to do them, I just can't get my hands to move around the poi.
Is there an easier way to learn or is it just practice, practice, practice.

I found that isolations come easlie with stretchy sock poi, with really heavy heads. Spin slow and (while doint the isolate Buzzsaw) you can grab the poi of the opposite hand for distance. That distance is the size of the circle your arms should aim for while isolating.

When I do the forward isolated buzzsaw my 'power' or where im 'pushing' the poi starts at about my mid-chest and ends about 40-50 degreese (in a circle) after or just past me face.

When it comes to the isolated weave.... thats a much more in depth explination... im or email for that one.

I agree with kepki2003, heavy stretchy or nylony sock poi are great for learning this as they tend to stagger themselves a bit and slow your movements down.

yeah i think isolations are kinda hard as well.
i have heard the advice that you should try to ''remove the weight'' of the poi.
if you do a good isolation it feels like they dont weigh anything.
how do you do an isolated weave?

the only thing worth dying for is life itself

These damn things will be the death of me mad2

I can do a weave isolation no problem and some butterfly iso's as well, but be damned if I can get the buzzsaw iso.
I can get about 1 beat then all hell brakes loose, I've done just about every possible way to mess up.
stall 1, speed way out of control, wrap them together, smack myself in the face, the list goes on.
Is there anywhere I can buy a buzzsaw isolation from, I don't care how much they cost?

Isolation is a Split time technique of changing center Is usually shown in buzzsaw. Other variant is Wheel plane or horizontal as Helix.

Richee, an isolation isn't a poi move. You can isolate anything. Like when you see people body popping. They isolate say finger tips, then wrist, then elbow and so on to make waves.

So with poi you can isolate your body or the poi.

You can isolate every poi move, buzzsaws are isolated a lot but i see people isolating everything else too.

You can practice them horizontally, looking down at the floor. That will show you the idea anyway.

I did make a little flash isolation tutorial years ago, it's on sphism somewhere, it explains the concept pretty well, i'll try to find the link...
